So, what’s the overall message to Richmond supporters after Sunday’s result, and with just over four weeks to go to the opening round match against Carlton?

The message would be we haven’t started yet! As I mentioned to our blokes when I spoke to them in the rooms after the game, we played a practice match last year up at Shepparton where we beat the Western Bulldogs by 12 goals, and then they beat us by 115 points three weeks later in Round 1. So, what happens now has no implications for what happens in the opening round of the season. What we need to do is make sure that our mind-set is 100% right, and that when we step out in Round 1, we’re absolutely raring to go. That’s when it counts. March champions are March champions . . .

its about the process, sydney had a bunch of kids (love the look of currie and white) but they still knew the gameplan inside and out

its not just about personell but its more about developing your game style

i dont want none of this "terry's crunch game" when you make a super plan to win a game and then we get smashed the next week i want a process of consistency which the kids can learn from

As far as i am concerned, we had no intention of taking the NAB cup seriously. FFS, we played Tuck as a ruckman! It was merely a game to test the water with a few things and see if a few of the younger brigade could prove they had what it takes.

Do you think TW would ever think about putting Tuck in the ruck in the normal season??? Me thinks not...

i dont know what was wrong with angus but he couldnt play so it was either put polak in the ruck or just get tucky in there to give a contest

What we saw on Sunday is what we have seen year after year ..... a midfield not desperate enough, not accountable enough and not skillful enough, a backline that just falls into a heap when the pressure is on, and a forwardline that cant take a contested mark inside 50 when Richo isnt the focal point.

The best excuse we have is that it was only a preseason match because that is what it was ....... what will our excuse be if that is the way we play early in the season? Something like oh its only early its a long season?

I care about getting smashed on Sunday, I'm not annoyed about it though because I didnt expect us to win, what I did expect though was those playing actually showed a bit of heart instead of the usual half hearted efforts we constantly get thrown year after year.

Miller's been pulling the "this place is so crap we need 5 years to fix it" card since his first day at the club.

what a complete piece of crap it is.
I gave it to my 6½ yr old daughter, hoping that maybe she could cut in pieces and use the pieces as some sarongs for her Barbie dolls.
All she could say was 'It looks like a hanky for a person with a very big nose'
She refused to accept it.
I'm not taking it to games.
i can't even bring myself to keep it.
In the bin it went.

I have grown tired of seeing a team that is not desperate enough to win.

There's no belief at Tigerland, and after Sunday the supporters have no reason to think anything has changed.

Yeah, it just gives me the ****s that we get the same crap dished up every year and the same excuses come out.

About time we played every game like it mattered, perhaps for once we might taste that hunger one gets from winning.

If its not the Team we are making excuses for its individual players and if its not them then its usually those who are running our club.

I'm prepared to give the likes of Tambling, Hughes, Meyer & the others time to develop and I'm happy that we give Terry and Co their 5 years, it does makes perfect sense why they would get that amount of time, but I'll tell you if we havent made the finals at least once and we continue to finish 9th to 12th or even worse lower, dont expect me to suck it in.

Round 1 Carlton thats our focus, the club should be watching the blues every week they play in the NAB afterall they are playing their best players and displaying their gameplan. Analyze, Plan & Disect, then thump the living crap out of them to open the season up, our team is good enough time to step up and show it.

Too easy to hide behind excuses.
