Can't help but noticing how much better last night and today is cos of yesterday's result. Makes me laugh how after last year coll supporters were talking about a 3 peat . LOL

Careful not to go too far. It's great to see Lonergan get a premiership medal and Collingwood suffer, but the likes of Scarlett and Scott are also celebrating
 
Geelong are the greatest team of all and the oldest to win a flag in 67 years.

Some said No Ablett, No Geelong. Bartel proved yesterday that he is a better player than Ablett.

Jimmy Bartel is also one of the greatest players ever. Can play anywhere and do almost anything. It was amazing as he stalked Collingwoods entire team in the 3rd quarter.

Yeah it was great seeing Geelong smash Collingwood in that last quarter yesterday. Hated them when they beat us in 09 but still respect guys like Bartel, Ling, Kelly, Chapman and Corey, such gutsy footballers and decent, humble guys off the field.

They were fortunate with the sub rule though, with Podsiadly going down injured they brought on the sub and didn't lose rotations on the bench like we did when we lost Gardiner at virtually the same stage of the first GF last year. Probably fair to say if we had a sub last year we probably would have won that game

brownlow, 3 flag medals and now a norm smith. In a side that didn't include Ablett.

An amazing footballer, as courageous and skilfull as they come.

Coach to Jimmy: Can you please stand in the way of either Dawes or Cloke when they are on the lead and take a contested mark even if you get creamed? Can you please repeat the same process in our forward line?

I think I'll stick with Bartel. It would be great if we had him at St.Kilda. One can only wish.

The contested mark and goal he kicked on Saturday was sublime. Pure guts.

Talk about dejavu. Here is what he did against Collingwood to put them in front earlier in the year. He is the best player in the league by a mile. Can play anywhere and on anyone!

Strange to look back to Round 1 and think that nearing 3/4 time the Cats had scored only one goal against us at the 'G'. How differently our two respective seasons turned out after that.

Not really, when you have a player like Bartel who due to his exceptional and selfless clubman ability draws 2 Saints defenders in a marking contest and Milburn runs into goal. Cats hit the front for the first time in the match. 19 seconds left in the last quarter. We lose by a point and remember Selwood was knocked out by Farren Ray in the 1st quarter.

It wouldn't have been a goal if Bartel wasn't involved in that passage. And who does Milburn immediately run to afterwards to say thanks for that? None other than Jimmy Bartel.

4 Grand Finals, 1 Prelim Final for 3 premierships over 5 years. Thats pure dominance. Not to mention they only lost 2 games in year they lost the GF. One of the greatest teams of all time imo. Well ahead of the Lions of early 2000's. To be able to dominant entire years stands them above.

I was going to come in here and merely mutter F' Geelong, now however I am eagerly awaiting the Hun article slamming the Cats for their lack of taste, Bartel particularly for making Duthie far more attractive to more people than she already was (well the Dummy seemed to be turning for him, now see him in a skirt! :p) and get up on their high horses about how a boozey blokey culture (hmmm where have I heard that before I wonder....) re football clubs have no place in society.

Better question would be where the crap did Stevie J get his jumper? I see some manner of rubber chicken stapled to it, North weren't in cahoots with this effort were they? I thought they were cool man.

But to be fair, there's sweet FA to do in Geelong anyway so you can't really blame them, though Bartel won't be getting any since it's a damned frigid place.
