Hey just wanted to say thanks for another great season...it was a fantastic year even though we jsut missed out on another flag...

We will be back better next year :)

what the hell, fantastic year is this a joke, this has been the owrst year of my life supporting Geelong, how can u say it was good, geez noi wonder our club is stuffed, its cause to many people just accept losing grand finals is ok its not and the sooner the supporters understand this the better.

How is the club stuffed? It's a very successful club off the field :rolleyes:
 
succesful club my arse, wait 5 yrs when we bottom out completley, we will be stuffed again mark my words, successful, geez winning 1 flag in 50 yrs, the club is one of the biggest jokes ever...

We have progressed so much as a Club over 10 years, we have Won a Premiership, been brought back from the brink of extinction, have remarkable talent and have won a Brownlow Medal!
We have acheived countless things since this and the Football Club and Players work Bloody Hard to keep things afloat!
Just appreciate what we've acheived, what a Great Club we are and the fact that we've been spolit with Premierships and Wins!
Accept things as they are, we could've been extinct by now, we are a Great Football Club and we have acheived so much!
Try jumping in the Suit of one of these guys and see how Bloody Hard it actually is!
We don't need Supporters like you polluting our Great Club with this drivel! :mad::mad::mad::thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd:
 
della della della! Its time for you to find another club. You are not a geelong FC supporter.

Some of us have been through this a number of times before. Its not fun.

It does no-one any good however to bag others or to find scapegoats. What's done is done.

When you are older and have felt real grief you tend to put things like yesterday into perspective. Even better it helps you celebrate harder when things go well. This time last year was a good example of that.

Football is a game and a business and for some their religion. That great Liverpool football manager Bill Shankley is famously quoted as saying:

" Some people think football is a matter of life and death. ... I can assure them it is much more serious than that"" !

Sort of sad though- Football was his entire life.

Fortunately I have other things to look forward to as well. Right now when I have to face friends and DH's about losing the 2008 grand final I simply remind them that was last year. It helps a little.

We do have so much to be thankful for while we follow our favourite footy club - they play and always have played such attractive football. GFC have won two cups in my time as a supporter. I remember these every day. They have built a very successful business over the past 8 years with a social culture that is the envy of many clubs.

I will continue to enjoy reading the threads that look forward to next year. We have real depth in the playing list and one AA and a couple of outstanding prospects who just missed out to add to the mix.


Finally. Congratulations Hawthorn. I admire Hodge a worthy medal winner and a great leader. Well done. Enjoy the months ahead they are just fun.

Why don't put just get all your rants and put them in one big thread? It would make you easier to ignore.
If you don't like the club then LEAVE, I would rather be in our position then in 14 other team's position right now.

I'd rather get in the grand final and get a chance to win, then not even make it. Our team can't win every single Grand final they play in! It's all about taking the good with the bad, and these last two years have been very enjoyable for me as a supporter. Imagine supporting the Cats in the 70's to 90's. Failure followed by heartbreak. Premierships don't come along very often, so feel fortunate that you got to experience one.
 
23 out of 24 is a big acheivement. Only 1 matters, I get it. This season has been great and just because we lost the grandfinal doesn't make it turn into a bad one. There were some teams that had great seasons too, and they didn't make it either. Just focus on the positives and bring on next year.:)
 
I hope all the bandwagoners like della now **** off.

Thanks for all the great times in 2008 and the 2007 GF win, Geelong.

We'll be back.

The Cats have had a very successful year, if we kicked straight the game would have probably had a different outcome. But thems the breaks. Get over it and move on. I'm sure the club has a very bright future, with Hawkins, Selwood, Egan and Prismall. We will bounce back, with or without you Della.

To me being able to follow a footy team is great...winning is better, making finals and grand finals is even better..winning a flag is the best...but hey at least we got to the big game and was able to enjoy the occassion...

WE will be back! And supporters like me are what keeps the clubs going, not supporters who whinge and start being abusive because of losses...u guys are there for the good times but u gotta be there folr the down times as well

im sure me being positive afte a loss wont effect the footy club:rolleyes:

The players are hurting more than we are, remember.

They're the ones who have to do early morning weights sessions, ice baths and recovery sessions in freezing cold water.

They're the ones that have every aspect of their game overanalyzed on forums like this.

And they're the ones who know what an opportunity they missed yesterday.

Give it a rest. Everybody associated with the GFC - Brian, Frank, Bomber, the players, the staff and the supporters - feels terrible today. But we have the talent and - hopefully - the resolve to bounce back next year in what will probably be Milburn and Harley's final season. Let's aim to send them off on a high.
 
Bloody hell. I'm as pissed off you you are but shit.... Not many teams win 23 and lose 2 in a year. You will see Geelong win another flag in your life time. At least we won last year. I can die saying i saw my team win a flag. I can live with that
 
As a Hawthorn supporter, this is one of the most disgraceful post's i have ever seen. You are a joke Delli or what ever your dam name is.

How can you actually call yourself a supporter of a team and you rant on like a 10 year old just missed out on getting a cookie.

Jesus with the year Geelong had you only ever had to sleep upset once. coming into the grand final i obviously wanted a win, But at the same time i was just so dam proud of the group for giving us the supporters one hell of a year. Unfortunately there has to be one winner and a loser on the day. It makes NO difference if you won every game for the year because they are not grand finals.

The amount of pressure on a team to go back to back is immense and i suppose poor kicking was maybe a factor.


Stay strong Geelong your team is full of champions ( ling is very ugly tho, would love to see him go clubbin with x.ellis and see how much they pick up lol ) and i hope we meet again next year in the GF.
