Up & down at times but has been a great member of our current squad.

Thanks Hendo!

Overall, I think Hendo's career at the Cats has been pretty good. He was cooked by the end of this year and I think it's a good idea he retires now. His comeback from being delisted then selected as a rookie is legendary and shows the quality of the man and the player he was. I wish him well for his future and thanks for being such a fine clubman.

Would have loved to see him get to 100 games but the time is right...the fantastic footy hes played after being delisted 2 years ago shows his work ethic and you wouldnt meet a nicer team first bloke..sad we couldnt get him a flag. Will leave a big hole in our defence next year.

solid last two years. At least we have the perfect replacement. Freddy time to step up! Wait.....

That's all on Kreugs, though. Surely he can see that there's a massive vacancy for a KPD at the Cattery for 2022 and beyond. Story goes that he wants to play forward and that is a major factor in his desire to head off to the Pies.

Clearly his call, not the club's.

We played him in every game till the bye and he played some very good football. Post-bye he was a little beat up and less convincing. I wish we would play our veterans the complete opposite. Play them sporadically in games here and there before the bye and then start cementing them in the lead up to the finals. Half of them don't need to play more than 12-15 games. We keep driving them into the ground ala Ablett/ Selwood the last couple years. Anyhoo thanks for the memories/ efforts good sir, you shouldered a lot of the load this year with Taylor gone and did it admirably.

Right time for Hendo to retire. Overall was good pickup, extremely reliable for long stretches of games, only knocks was facing quick delivery one-out against monster forwards (and that’s pretty difficult for most defenders) and susceptibility to injury. Bad end to the season, but took a huge battering in a couple of games at end of H&A which wouldn’t have helped. Wonder if Hendo retiring and Scarlett leaving will give Freddie second thoughts on leaving.

I think Henderson still had more in him. Was really solid in our defense and we will miss his steadiness and accurate disposal hitting targets in space.
Fine player
I suspect that there’s more going on off field for him personally that forced his hand
