Not trying has never been the issue. Lonergan has always given his all, which makes him more of an understandable fan-favourite than someone like Reimers. He's been let down by endurance and disposal, and has consequently dropped behind younger, more-promising players for the backup midfield slots.

Interesting you mention endurance. This can be fixed and often poor endurance can lead to inefficient disposal. Will be interesting to see what happens.
