I had that bad feeling today.... a sense of doom.

My 16yo cat had a stroke today and could only respond to me through half his body.

My best mates old man got diagnosed with a life threatening health condition.

I just couldn't barrack with the same sense of urgency.

Despite the loss i'm proud of the boys. We got beat by the better side in the end. Pendles going down early was a bad loss given the inclusion of Rocca. Kudos to Thomas, Sidebottom, Rocca and Cloke - much maligned but really had a go today, tried their best. I appreciated that today.

Guys like Didak, Davis, O'Bree, Johnson and Lockyer need to lift for a chance next week - if we are to win.

I just hope we go back, forget this week, and have a real go against the Crows. I'm sure we are a real shout this week.

Carn da Pies!!!

All i think we can say is that we got beaten by a better side on the day, they didn't win 20 games this home and away season cause they are an average side !!

As is said so many of our guys can lift, i thought dids gave the impression he gave up on jones, didn't want to work hard enough. I'm sure he'll bounce back next week.

Today thought clokey, maxy, steelo, daisy were out best today .. and btw won't be suprised if ppl come out and abuse the f*** out of him but Rocca for mine was good today, had a crack and threw his body around.. well done big fellar :thumbsu:

There is no place for superstition in football

You're probably right beez - just had that sort of day today.

Then again, i'm sure those footy players wearing 10yo undies each week might disagree ;)

Lookin forward to the Croweaters.

I thought Toovey was pretty good today too. Disposal wasn't always the best (who's was?) but he kept trying to make contests and ran hard all day.

He was among your best. Just a pity some of the other names didn't have the same spirit he showed.

One a side note - does anyone here think that since Brad Scott's appointment at NM your midfield hasn't quite seemed the same?

Really, really sorry to hear about your cat mate. I have two cats and two dogs, and I'd be beside myself if any of them suffered that badly. It's probably inevitable, but that doesn't make it any easier.

As far as your bad feeling goes, I must say I had it on Friday when Rocca was selected. I don't mean to diss the great man, he's done everything right by playing as well as he can and getting himself as fit as he can in the VFL... but it was a terrible selection blunder. I thought we'd thrown away a whole season as soon as I heard of it.

Cheers TRS.

Yeah I had that feeling too when Rocca was named.

Thing is I don't think it was his selection that lost it for us. He had a pretty good game overall I thought. Indirectly we lost a runner because of his selection when Pendles went down which played a big role in the loss.

Wood should also have been in the side even if it was at Frasers expense.

At the end of the day we hit a red hot Reiwoldt and a good Saints team.

Atleast we have nest week. I've got confidence in the boys - the selection commitee is a differenst story

Riewoldt was awesome... but I put it down more to our midfield getting pulverised than to Presti's unusually poor game. Think of our game against Brisbane where in the first half, Jon Brown marked the ball at will every time it went inside 50; in the 2nd half he practically needed an exercise bike in the goalsquare to keep himself warm, as our midfield got on top.

Agree that Wood should have played. MM has a lot of great qualities as a coach, but in addition to giving his young players opportunites and putting faith in them, he doesn't mind dropping them for no reason and screwing up their confidence either.

Fraser should be dropped for Wood this week against Adelaide. He had no influence on the game at all.

One of Fraser or Rocca has to make way for Wood thats for sure.

The midfield getting pulverised was a big part of it - all in all though Reiwoldt just had one of those games. I don't think anyone else in the league could have done to Presti what Reiwoldt did to him today. The guy was a deadset star. Not Prestis fault at all I thought.
