Good to see Peter (SUUUUUUPER) Carey making a comeback to footy after a long absence from the game

Adelaide crow Peter Carey out-muscles former teammate, Mick Martyn to win the ball.

what a rag

Actually Pred there was a photo of members of the Glenelg 1973 premiership team in the 'tiser today, with the real :) Peter Carey among those at the reunion and in the pic.

Don't think that super as he is now would get a kick on Micky Martyn these days though. ;)

Interesting to note that the 1973 GF has been voted the greatest GF ever played in the SANFL,

Pleasant memories that day brings as i had the privilege of being one of the crowd there at Adelaide oval to witness the Bays 2nd premiership,

The first thing we are told in introductory tutes, lectures and some course guides at uni is to forget about reading The Advertiser as it is a rag.

If you want to read a paper get The Australian or The Age.

The other thing worth mentioning is that the AFC are very annoyed about Macca being covered in scratches, mainly on his arms, and courtesy of Francina.

Could be more to come on this yet.

How funny was that piece of footage when Franchina was trying to bump and shove and annoy McLeod when he was playing across half-forward. Carey was there elbowing Franchina then he went on to elbow Whitnall and he kept doing it to each of them. He was trying to make a statment "No one is touching McLeod as long as I am on the field". I couldn't stop laughing.:D

How about that comedy of errors (3rd Qtr????) When Carey, Johncock, Welsh and ladhams (???) all had an airy or two trying to kick a goal early in the quarter. Stephen Rowe was calling at the time, he was so hilarious the whole household was in tears from laughter:D

I wasn't so much laughing as screaming my head off... SOMEONE KICK THE BALL WITH A BIT OF PENETRATION!

I recall someone had two goes at it and missed - Carey?

Reminded me of the earliest matches Jason McCartney played for us when we nabbed him in 1995. He was drafted with an eye to looking after Mods and promptly got himself rubbed out for a few weeks doing that very job - I think it was in a Fosters Cup against Melbourne :D

That's one of the things I love about Carey - when he's on your side he's 100% on your side.
