Well Dons cant play worse than they have today. But in saying that, the onslaught has only happened after Goddard got subbed out and then the Umps decided to award the win to Freo well before half time.

Lucky Dons getting 4 players back next week vs Saints. Hoping to get back on track with a win. In saying that, 2-2 isn't so bad.
Typical Essendon supporter. It's either injuries or the umpires....let's not forget Freo had their entire midfield out once Mundy went down.

You still tore me a new one in UF.
Close win more than anything. The match up was still up for grabs at 3/4 time in the last game. Kinda disappointed with my forwards this week, 29.8 (180) - nowhere near as good as last week's 32.6 (198) :D Good to see a couple of guys break their duck and get their first win of the season.

I think Essendon is not far off the very best. Hawthorn game is a good example of that. But, we played so poor against Freo. Umpires may have been shit, but they didn't give 10 goals to Freo.
They'll certainly be in and around the top 4. My only concern with Essendon is Danihers youth and a lack of tall support to accommodate. Carlile's a good player, but can he be consistent enough up forward to cause headaches to the best defenses of the league. I still feel he's better down back....time will tell.

Your mids up up there with the best in terms of transition/fast break football, so you're not without a chance to go all the way....then there's Chappy.;)

Yeah same. I hated that we lost both Cramers and Gumby at the same time. Would have loved to have kept one just so we are not throwing Joe is the deep end too quickly. But, hopefully with the return of Bellchambers soon will help down forward.

Oh, Chappy has already been his worth. So happy that he has come across. Can see why he was and still is so beloved at Geelong.

I'm just happy to see him playing well and still capable of dominating matches. Whilst I was devastated to see him go, I can understand Geelong's logic. Guys like Burbury, Murdoch and the like need to play games to keep the club sustainable, with Chappy maybe playing one more year (2 at best) their development would have be stifled somewhat, so in the end I feel it was the correct call. Without these young guys getting valuable game time, I'm unsure whether we could remain in the upper echelon without sliding down the table.

Win/win for both sides.
