I had a horrible, vivid dream last night that we lost NAB Cup round one by 125 points.

Our best possible side I think looks something like :

B: McGuane -- Thursfield -- Newman
HB: Schultz -- Moore -- Tambling
C: Brown -- Tuck -- Richardson
HF: Coghlan -- Reiwoldt -- Cotchin
F: Lids -- Hughes -- Morton
R: Simmonds -- Cousins -- Foley

I: White -- Pattison -- Bowden
Johnson -- -- Jackson

Think all four on the bench may at times during the year be under pressure , but were selected for team balance, White best runner not in side, Patto no. 2 Ruckman, Bowden swingman, Joackson best tagger, Johnson experienced midfielder.
Richo must stay on a wing, to allow the forward line develop and Brown must do the same as he no longer is quick enough, nor does his body allow him, to play genuine small forward yet his ability to hit leading forwards is 1st class.

i think we should play browny if any of the 30+ age group. he will dominate with plenty of room to run around in. and freo are not the best of teams when they are full strength so all the better for brown if he plays.

FB Tambling Thursfield Mcguane
HB Moore Rance Newman
C Edwards Coughlan White
HF Cotchin Reiwoldt Connors
FF Morton Hughes Deledio
FOLL Pattison Polo King
INT Putt Jackson Thomson Hislop Vickery Post

I think we need to find out how King will play as a midfielder. Play him there for the whole preseason and we may be surprised. We also need to get Cogs ready for the proper season. Play Tambo in the back pocket and ease Cotch and Lids in up forward. We also need to prepare Polo as a tagger, so do it over the next 2 months. It's time we gave Rance and Putt a run and trial Thomson, Hislop, Vickery and Post.

Long time reader, first time poster.
Here my crack at the NAB 2009 side thinking they will rest a few senior players.
B: King Moore Schulz
HB: Newman McGuane Raines
C: White Tuck Thomson
HF: Morton Pattison Reiwoldt
F: Hislop Hughes Deledio
R: Graham Jackson Foley
INT: Putt, Post, Gourdis (R) Edwards, Rance, Collins
Rest Simmonds, Richo, Johnson, Brown, Cousins, Bowden, Thursfield.
Inj: Cotchin, Connors, Polak, Pettifer,
Should still be good enough to beat the Dockers providong plenty of run and carry.

OK, a bit more of an updated version now with training and all, and it's only two weeks away ! :)

I love that forward line.

How do you know McMahon, Schulz and Rance are not playing? I know McMahon and Schulz had niggling injuries but I know Rance had a good game in the intra-club match last week

With all that in mind

B:King Thursfield McGuane
HB: Newman Moore Raines
C: Richo Tuck White
HF: Edwards Riewoldt Morton
FF: Nahas Hughes Brown
R: Simmonds Foley Deledio
I: Gus Tambling Polo Hislop Thomson Post Gourdis Collins

Connors (If fit) and Jackson are also are a chance of playing

I read somewhere Rance won't be travelling. I can't remember, might've been another website.

McMahon and Schulz were mentioned in an article I read today, I think it was The Australian.

I'd say he'd take Gourdis' place.
