geel will make the 8 cos of it, they would have been 50/50 against the druggies and probabaly lost 1 and won 1: We would have won both both game anyway like this year.

I reckon we would have won both too.

That said, what makes me happy is that we're not disadvantaged by having to win one more to make up for only playing them once.

Given the closeness of the competition, I reckon some teams are actually going to suffer this season by dropping ladder positions solely because they only play the druggies once.

I'm glad it won't be us.

all they talk about is the essendon 12 what about the other 22? should they sue for loss of reputation? or is the Essendrugs Sponsor FOX sports only interested in only one club?

Interesting thing now is whether the players sue the club (and Hird etc). Loss of earnings, reputation, and mental anguish. Easy to get well over $10 million. We'll see, but you'd hope this is just the start of the pain for the EFC.

PLus given multiple players got done the club is automatically punished (I believe - maybe just hope). So more picks lost?? Good times ahead.

And congrats boys on your delayed Brownlow.

Draftees will be forced to play too early. Top up players will have to be paid. Currently listed player's contracts need to be paid. Players that moved to other clubs can't play. Now players may seek advise regarding action against Essendon. Workcover will fine the club. Fletcher removed from 400 club and Jobe hands in his brownlow. Season fixture compromised.

I only feel sorry for the players who didn't have the intelligence to question the doping regime, and I feel for the kids that are not going to play too early in their developing years.

But the bottom line is that they cheated, lied, and got caught. They were better off telling the truth from "Day 1" and saving the legal fees. The club would want to distance itself from Hird asap.

What a mess.

It's staggering the position Hird, some people at that club and some of their supporters and some in the AFL and media have taken with all of this and continue to do so. Are they dumb ? Naive ? Biased ? Whatever, you really can't have any sympathy for the club and players anymore when you look at the actions Arsendon have taken over the journey, and now, these statements by CAS re the players. CAS has totally slammed the players.

Note: time for people like Mark Robinson to eat a massive turd sandwich.

Imagine this happened to our club at the start of 2011 - would have been absolutely disasterous

its where essendrugs would have been at now, although our 2010 team was better than their 2015 team

The silence from the AFL is damning, they are trying to come up with a story about their INDEPENDENT anti doping tribunal and how far off the mark it was

If this happened to our club groupie, we would have been disbanded, not many friends at AFL house

Worsfold would be spewing.
Port (Ryder and Monfries) would be spewing.
St Kilda (Carlisle) would be spewing.
Western Bulldogs (Crameri) would be spewing.
Melbourne (Melksham) would be high-fiving everyone in sight.

if this happened to our club we would have burnt the place down, before the AFL had a chance to do anything

They cant be paid whilst suspended, they cant train with any sporting organization that is signed to WADA, they will need to seek restitution through the courts, the statements thye made to CAS (which they were coached on by the club will give the club an out )

Smart business man that Little Paul

So the upside for Essendon is that they have freed up at least $5m in their salary cap for 2016. Should give them some flexibility and negotiating power when topping up their list.
