Dizzy!
That's just un-australian and un-fremantle and just goddamn well unmanly!
How can you not like gods special, precious nectar?

Beer is just unpleasant for me, but as far as gods special nectar.. well.

I love it.:)

Been drinking a bit of Beck's lately, it's pretty decent.

You must be the first white person I've ever heard that drinks that shit.

I'm not that fussy and will drink standard beers but that stuff is shocking.

One thing I can't stand is those horrible fruit infused beers they're bringing out lately like Carlton Fusion and the other one I forgotten the name of. Foul stuff.

Horrible drink, it's like a regular beer left to go flat overnight and they've added some cordial too..

Personal Favourites:

Little Creatures Pale Ale
Fat Yaks
Bohemian pils
San Miguel
weihenstephaner
Newcastle brown Ale
Dogbolter
Guinness
Anything out of Belgium or Czech Republic

Most Overrated:
Anything by Coopers

How old are you? Beer is an acquired taste, myself and a few of my mates only started to drink it regularly at around 21. Spirits are good but nothing beats a cold beer on a hot summer afternoon :)

Currently 20 turning 21 mid-year.

Tried Becks, Corona, Carlton Cold and Beez Neez. Never been able to enjoy it, always more of a struggle to finish it.

You gotta try this stuff Diz. It's like god himself pissed into a bottle...

This seems like a good excuse to repost the gif I made of all the beers I tried while backpacking around Europe...

Rate the Belgium brews but gotta laugh, when I was in Bruges yonks ago I found out that Stella Artois is their equivalent of Fosters i.e., they never touch the stuff themselves but export it to everyone else in the world.

Not that I hate it but its probably the only one I dont rate. Its probably brewed under license here nowdays so its hardly from Belgium.

without doubt squire is number 1, then probably asahi and carone... going to the germany for ocktoberfest. hopefully will get even more of an appreciation of different beers

Another for some Little Creatures love here. Bright Ale superb.
Also agree with Asahi recommendations.

Adding:

Sapporo

Of course given the surroundings I think I could drink anything that hits the B spot! Last three days in WA's heat, Singapore swelter, Cafe in europe etc.

Little Creatures Bright and Fat Yak are awesome. They both go down way too easy.
But I grew up on Emu Export therefore I can Drink almost anything and not find it inoffensive.
However, I will not part with money for VB.

After going to Japan a few times and drinking Sapporo, Asahi, kirin and suntory I found that they all taste the same. They are all drinkable but none of it is anything special. Kinda like drinking Tooheys new or Boags premium.
I was a big fan of Asahi before I went (maybe they send us the good stuff) but now not so much.

Pretty sure Asahi will brewed under license here in the near future if not already.

I'm not a huge fan of Kirin. I didn't find it to be anything like Asahi personally.

BKBP's little brother and his mates must have been on Rotto for schoolies because the front page of the West had a picture of about a dozen young blokes partying at Rottnest each with a can of Export in their hands.

I find it absolutely hilarious that you mention that because my little brother currently works out at Rottnest and is another Pilbara lad who swears by the bushchooks!

here's my defintive list of the good, bad and ugly of common aussie beers (not including midstrength cos that's not real beer):

bad (overrated)

carlton cold
crownies
carlton premium dry
tooheys extra dry

ugly (horrible)

carlton draught
emu export
redback

Blasphemer!!!!!

My faves

Coopers Pale Ale (standard drinking)
Little Creatures Pale Ale
Fat Yak
Guinness (preferably from a long neck rather than those widget cans)
Hoegarden
Feral's Belgian White

Some of those pommy ales are great

Two Old Farts
Speckled Hen
Directors Special
Lots of others but can;pt remember

Gone off pilsners, no grunt, don't mind corona's but they need the lemon to give them a bit of acid otherwise they're kind of bland

Worst beer in the world, Southwark closely followed by West End - no bull, these two are absolutely disgusting; both pretty much undrinkable- even make VB look good.

When I was a young fella I worked in a shearing team as a rousabout for a while. I went into the Darkan pub before we started a shed out of town once and ordered a carton of Emu bitter and a carton of Camel plain ciggy's. Two old codgers were sitting at the end of the bar and one said "Geez, what a f***ing mate to have. You can't drink his f***ing piss and you can't smoke his f***ing cigarettes.

I'll give it a go, Esti.:thumbsu:

Make sure you get it icy cold first.

I always drink my beers icy cold if I can. If I'm having a session I put my next beer in the freezer while I drink the one before it.

Apparently purists say drinking beer too cold robs you of some of the flavour but... pfft... what do they know.

Like most of you, I like coopers pale ale & little creatures pale ale etc but my favourite aussie beer is the Duckstein Pils in the Swan Valle or Margaret River followed by Feral Belguim White.

I was in Turkey in 05 and their beer is surprisingly good especially 'Efes' beer.
