Would have to say pendlebury. Always thought this but Thomas is really starting to narrow the gap which is all the more impressive because Pendlebury is improving so much. Collingwoods two highest picks in last draft Reid and Brown are probably both seen as needing time to develop although Browns twin has been able to keep up in a premiership side with a similar build. Clarke could be anything with the talent he has already shown. Fan of Goldsack, Stanley and Cox(That kid is as confident as they come on the football field) in the backline. But ultimately Pendlebury is the best of a verys talented young group of kids.

10; Alan Toovey
9; Nathan Brown
8; Brad Dick
7; Tyson Goldsack
6; Ben Reid
5; Martin Clarke
4; Harry O'Brien
3; Scott Pendlebury
2; Dale Thomas
1; Heath Shaw

Uncertain;

Davies, Cook, Nicholls, Dawes

Keep for another season;

Egan, Stanley, Anthony, Cox, Rusling

Aside from the obvious, Brad Dick. Great vision, great decision making, great kicking, great goal sense.

i asked this question because there is such a sweet future for the pies and in my opinion in would be shaw, pendlebury and thomas. all in there 2nd year but pendlebury has just became a real name this year.

I think Ben Davies will, in time, be a sensational player. People forget that he only arrived in the country 18 months ago, and that he was born without a right knee.

From what i have seen of Jon Anthony he has got full back licked.
He will play senior football next year and its a cruel shame he has missed an opportunity this year. Guys like Obrian and Goldshack have slotted into available key back posts and are thriving and it seems Brown has shown vast improvement in the last fortnight so here is hoping there is a spot for JA there..If anything Presty might not be a feature next year....i love the bloke...but thats life..

Ridiculous underrating of Shannon Cox. I reckon he is flying under the radar at the moment with all these talented youngsters that we have coming through. I honestly think Cox could be a superstar midfielder in the Goodes/Kouta mould. That's not to say he will, he still needs to improve a lot but the potential is definately there. He's a 191cm 92 kg player with pace, very good skills and excellent composure under pressure. He's a good defender, but I thought he was fantastic when played on the ball and should be played there more often. Along with Pendlebury provides a lot of class on the ball to offset the likes of Licca, Obree and Burns (that's not to say Burnsy lacks class, just different styles).

In terms of pure potential and raw ability, rather than performance so far, I'd actually put him in the top 5 of those youngsters.

Cox is a bit older isn't he?

I think outside of Clarke he's been our best debutant this year - he has great poise, good disposal and looks to be decent overhead.

He is but he is similarly inexperienced. Kouta was also a late developer. I don't think he is a KP player. His skillset is as a flanker or in midfield. Hopfully he gets more gametime in the latter. I think people here are judging him as a KP player which is why he isn't rated as highly as he perhaps should be.

If we are talking overall, i would have to say HEATH SHAW...he is our best player when he is on song!!!

Best first year player with the most room for improvment would have to be Martin Clarke considering he has only played 12 months of footy!!!

all of them, for different reasons.

Loving our kids at the minute.
