We're the clear next choice from Victoria to take over from Carlton or Essendon. A regional club with the greatest dynasty of the modern era, it's really about time that these so-called 'big' Melbourne clubs start to get their shit together.

You're going to look so silly when Geelong gets relegated and Dangerfield is arrested for indecent exposure inside of a library.

This. Once our very own privately owned stadium is finished we'll be regularly packing it to the rafters more often than not and rivaling the attendances of Collingwood, West Coast and any of the other BIG4's historical powerhouses.
Giddy up! :thumbsu:

Now it has come to pass that the national way of understanding who truly are the powerhouses of the AFL may be out of date considering the events of the past few months.

As it may pain many to hear this, the Blues from Carlton are no longer news and haven't been since the mid 90's, but no matter how far down the gurgler they go Essendon have recently followed suit by charging straight down the cistern directly after them and almost causing a jam in the Ess-bend..

Below is an artists impression of your typical kool-aid guzzler attempting to save his club from the same fate as Carlton.

Stupid Southern Hemisphere indeed. :rolleyes::thumbsu:

So anyway, whilst these clubs are on hiatus for the next 4 - 5 decades it's as good a time as any to see which organizations can now step up, do the heavy lifting and take the comp into the next era with all guns blazing.

First things first though.

Collingwood: Biggest club in the land if not the world, constantly hitting over 70,000 members, telling the league how to run itself day in day out and propping up the weaker organizations on an annual basis.
BIG4 Status: Confirmed.

Richmond: 35 years of nothing to remember except a spit into the wind yet still have the most passionate supporter base in the stratosphere bar none.
With 70,000 confirmed members who'll be happy to tip shit on the club again it's small chance they'll never be the envy of any other cheersquad.
BIG4 Status: Confirmed.

So here we go with the clubs under review who can stake a genuine claim to one of the coveted 2 spots up for grabs.

West Coast Eagles: Hitting an average of 40,000 people to a home game must raise a few eyebrows considering the only thing that is holding them back from a total of 100,000 members is the limitations of their stadium.
With a new arena on the way to host 60,000 with adjustments to cater for another 20,000 more if needed these guys must be given a pass into the revised BIG4 without a question.
BIG4 Status: Pending.

Adelaide Crows: Have been around the 60,000 membership mark for a while now and topped it in season 2015.
Offloading some deadwood plus letting their little brother have a say has done little to hurt the Crows popularity and they remain a true representative of South Australia who must surely be considered as a member of the revised BIG4.
BIG4 Status: Pending.

Geelong Cats:
Having been gifted their own stadium thanks to the previous BIG4, Vic taxpayers and other certain beneficiaries the pride of Victorias provinces has paid the league back in spades by garnering renewed interest in grass roots country football, appreciation for family and above all - loyalty to those who have made the club what it is.
Well on their way to matching their highest ever membership tally with only half a ground available this pride of south west Victoria has consistently proved all doubters wrong and must now be acknowledged as a legitimate contender in the AFL's BIG4...
BIG4 Status: Assured

Port Adelaide FC:
60,000 members whilst playing second fiddle in a one team town needs no invitation or explanation. This club is a bloody powerhouse and BIG4 bound!!!
BIG4 Status: Pending

So there we have it sports fans, 4 legitimate applicants to fill the vacant 2 spots in the fabled BIG4.

Of course there will be disagreements amongst yourselves over this but hey, take that up with your club for not measuring up.

PS; any recommendations for clubs who wanna try really hard to be considered should be addressed directly to the OP but only expect replies from Tuesdays to Wednesdays as he's either babysitting or testing various forms of fungi outside of those times.

Good luck with enjoying your clubs fortunes for the future and hey just remember, if your club didn't make the short list, then they didn't deserve to.. :):thumbsu:

You named Collingwood first, as you should. :thumbsu:

Isn't it owned by the Council?

It's owned by a local council, it couldn't be any less "privately owned".

This place is privately owned, shown behind the coach we had to send to your bush club to make you competitive. We're all about equalisation.

Isn't it owned by the Council?
And who runs the town? The GFC, thats who. In other words we own the council.

See above.

Now that we've cleared that up it seems Geelong and Port are leading the charge for BIG4 inclusion.
After what we've just discussed it's clear the Cats acceptance is already assured.

Allow me good sir. Umm Cheffy mate , I think you may have overlooked someone?

Go **** yourself!
Sorry mate im sure you have some valid points to make but only clubs with a proven & dedicated supporter contingent and solid home base should really apply.

Why is he shooped there?

Then why are north an option?
Again, poll missing correct answer - WCE and crows.
Sorry bro but if it was up to everyone who decides whether their club or is worthy or not would have us bickering.

Options are there, take it or leave it.

The AFL's equalisation formula:

1. Use massive fines/draft and trade restrictions, economic sanctions to remove the most dominant force in the competition for a decade or more...
result - a bunch of shit Clubs get a breather for annual reamings and Carlton can enjoy some spoon to give a bunch of floggish supporting minnows a break from the annual Carlton dominance.

2. Encourage EssenDONE to copy cat Geelong's drug dynasty under Bomber.T and mates and then stand back whilst ASADAWADA do their thing..removes Power Club #2 from equation for another decade or so..

3. Make sure that franchises enjoy all the available talent for half a decade and give them COLA COLA COLA...meanwhile let the interstate pretenders in Perth and Adelaide build and operate their own stadiums - along with tax payer funded Gee110ongers ( the trailer park trash of the competition) bread and entertainment for these country bumpkin yokels.

and you flogs wonder why I laugh at your chest puffing down hill skiing 'achievements' under the most corrupt regime managing AFL that has ever existed.

A pox on any fake flags won under the Demetriou regime - they are all tainted - starting with the BRisbane Bears crapola fest and ending with the luckiest Club in history to be last chest puffer standing flukey lukers- Hawthorn.

PIGS ARSE Geelong are a power Club - you bunch of handbag toting trailer dwellers:mad::rolleyes:
