Was stated in yesterdays Herald Sun.

There was mention of North looking at Morrison, Chambers and Lynch. No mention of what they thought would be coming Eagles way in return.

Any news in Perth????

havent heard a thing overhere.

its interesting, id say he was tradeable but i definitly wouldnt mind keeping him. players of that size dont along often, and he knows how to use it quite well. ie 'accidental' falls ala rocca.

not sure what he would be worth. probly a second rounder, i wouldnt do that tho. i would try and package him with a guy like morrison and see what we get.

Think they may be looking at Morrison because Jess Sinclair has refused his new contract offer and neither party will budge.

Still cant say we are overly stocked with key defenders.

Tounge in cheek " What about Morrison , Chambers and Lynch for Leigh Brown and Sinclair" I would do that deal in a heartbeat ,however I dont think North would be so accomodating.

Whoa! Deja Vu!

Ya cant trade Lynch.

a) He's massive
b) He can kick the ball a long way
c) McDougall is a pencil neck geek, and if we traded Lynch to another team he would snap Doogs in half the first chance he got.

I think it's pretty black and white. He is untradable.

definetaly can't trade Lynch.

Pretty handy at either end of the ground and given our lack of size we really need his presencee.

He's also one of only a handful who can hold down a key position down back.

Can you imagine coming up against Quinten Lynch...

No way he should be traded (for reasons that Thrawn mentioned).

Remember that photo from U16's where Lynch looked like he wanted to smack Doogs... don't let it happen.

*to efh.com posters. THE "EAGLE POWER" HAS LANDED :D :o

I can't believe everytime a players name comes up for trade the majority of people immediately say " oh hes untradable" or " he's untouchable". I don't understand where people are coming from here. It's not as if we have been a premiership threat for for the last 3 years and we are trying to hold our team together for future success. We have barely scraped into the 8 every time.
We are still rebuilding from the shambles we were in little over 3 years ago and although there are maybe 6, 7 or 8 core players that we need to keep to build around, i believe everyone else is tradable, but so long as they are wise trades that will strengthen the squad for the future.

Yeah Dumbo but you don't trade quality big men like Lynch to get a midfielder like Stenglien when we've got stacks of them. Lynch is a kid who could turn into our Mal Michael.

No need to get personal at a posters opinion, afterall we are all Eagles supporters and want the best for the club.
Back to the issue of the thread though, i never stated i would trade him for Stinger, (dont know where you got that from), but IMO he is certainly still tradable for the right price. I believe the initial post was about a rumour for him going to the Roos. I love Q as a player as much as the next Eagles supporter, but when you are looking at trading with a team that has players with the likes of Leigh Brown, and Daniel Wells on there list you would be stupid not to show some interest.

It has taken us 3 years to develop our current spine. I don't see why we would trade it away or for what reason we would want to trade an integral part of that spine away. Quentin Lynch played 22 out of a possible 23 games this year and only missed that game through stupidity. If he was on the fringe and was only getting a game when key players were injured (think Trent Carroll) then that would be a different story.

Trust me, I am in no hurry to trade Q off to another club. Apart from his size and strength I think Q always gives 100%, but still would not put him on our untouchables list.
He is still limited to the type of player he can play on in defence. Put him up against the quicker CHFs of the competition and he is going to struggle. On the plus side he is always handy to have to throw into the forward line, which is where i prefer to see him play, but we have an abundance of promissing youth and the return of Gardiner that will be fighting for those spots next year.
If we can push to secure another experienced defender like Hay during the trade period, i think we can still afford to trade him, but it would have to be for the right price.

I would prefer to have a player who has the fitness level and body to be able to play 22 games in a season rather than a player who at best gives you 18 games. I also think that having verstatility in your Key Positions is better than having someone who is one dimensional. To me Quentin Lynch is more valuable than a Hansen/Johnson for the fact that he can play both ends like a Scott Lucas. Of the Key Position players he would be 2nd just behind Glass and just in front of McDougall in importance to our team as far as I am concerned. To me that puts him in the untradeable category for now.

Sorry mate - its just that I spent the 2003 season complaining about the Big Q not being in the team and you want to get rid of him after his excellent season this year. And I'd rather him than Leigh Brown.

No worries.
I'm with you on him not getting the opportunities he deserved in 2003 and think he is one of our most improved over 2004. I'm just always open to trading players if there is something to be gained out of it to secure the future of the club. Realistically it would be unlikely that we would not get anything substantial for a player such as Quinten, who we all know is solid and always gives 100%, but underrated by the rest of the comp, so in that regard he would be untradable yes.
