This may or may not be a stupid question, but why is the UEFA Super Cup counted as a trophy (ie a unit of silverware) but the Community Shield, also a one-off playoff between 2 competition winners, is not? If you count Community Shields, United are well in front at this time.

Community shield is a friendly, it’s not counted as an official game. Hence you can make a heap of subs like in other friendlies.

The super cup is a real game.
