I have found this asessment of David Andersen on h

http://www.nbadraft.net/2003int-older.htm

David Andersen 7-0 PF/C Virtus Bologna (Australia) 1980 -- Has a good midrange jumpshot, but must get stronger and tougher. He is one the quickest big man in Europe. He is very agile, with nice footwork, he can jump and he has good reflexes. He has a presence on offense because he can be effective close to the basket with his knack for offensive rebounds and his technique but he can also face the basket and can score from around the lane. He needs to add bulk to fight in the NBA, but he has nice potential. May be similar to Rebraca if he can gain some strength.

Andersen played in the Italian All-Star game just recently, did he not... that alone should see him on the Athens Boomer team.

We'll have a big-man glut in the next 4-5 years, that much is for sure. Any good guards coming through? I haven't heard much about Daniel Kickert, although he seems to put up decent numbers. I also look at Luke Martin as a future Boomer PG. We need a Drewy-esque wing scorer but :D

Quick Bogut Update:

Freshman forward Andrew Bogut (6-10, 233) is second on the team in scoring (12.1 ppg) and first in rebounding (10.8 rpg) while shooting 63.2 percent from the field in 30.2 minutes per contest. Bogut has eight double-figure scoring games and seven double-figure rebound games.

* In the NCAA statistical rankings released on Dec. 16, Bogut was 11th in field goal percentage (67.3) and 12th in rebounds per game (11.1).

* Bogut has had double-doubles in the last three games to bring his total to six for the season. During the last three games, he has averaged 13.7 points and 11.3 rebounds. He has also shot 70 percent (14-of-20) from the field. The last time out, Bogut finished with 13 points and 13 rebounds against Colorado. He had 17 points and 10 rebounds against Cal State Northridge. Against LSU, Bogut finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Bogut hit a speed hump and got slapt around against Pepperdine... 0 points and 3 rebounds...Welcome to the learning curve and I will watch with interest on how he responds the next game. This should tell us a bit about his character...

Luke Schenscher keeps going backwards. Against real competition in 23 minutes scores 4 points and 4 rebounds and turns the ball twice....second ordinary game in the row....

Ian Crosswhite (Oregon) has been playing extremely well of late. Couldn't be bothered getting stats for y'all, but.

Im not that current on the College scene, but do Utah have a chance to get to the big dance?

I would say yes..their record is good enough, the only issue may be the quality of the opposition that they have played against at this stage may drag them down. Have not checked their conferance record but from memory I think that they are in top two as well...

Utah should make the tournament, but I wouldn't think they would have much of an impact upon it.

Luke Schenscher has a decent game in 23 minutes
Shooting 3-5 2-2 1 7 8 8 2 blocks and 1 steal.

Georgia Tech falls to North Carolina.

Utah's Bogut Breaks Out Against BYU

Both Andrew Bogut and Luke Schesner have big games this week.

Luke scored 18 poitns and 8 rebounds agains Duke which is special. He has performed consistantly over last few games and is starting to show both more confidence and maturity.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Andrew Bogut scores 17 in the second half to rally Utah from a 17-point deficit.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Andrew Bogut scored 17 of his 21 points in the second half Saturday to lead Utah back from a 17-point deficit and beat Brigham Young 64-56 in the Utes' first game without ailing coach Rick Majerus.

Nick Jacobson also scored 21 for the Utes (16-5, 4-2), hitting 5-of-8 3-pointers.

Jacobson, one of just two Utah seniors and the only Ute to play his entire career for Majerus, dribbled out the clock and heaved the ball toward BYU's basket after the buzzer in celebration of Utah's 10th straight home win over the rival Cougars (12-7, 2-4).

Majerus left the team indefinitely to deal with his health after suffering chest pains Tuesday night and has spent the week under his cardiologist's care in Santa Barbara, Calif.

The Utes, playing under assistant coach Kerry Rupp, were erratic in the first half, then settled down in the second to outscore the Cougars 45-22. Utah held BYU to 3-of-8 shooting in the final 20 minutes.

Mark Bigelow led the Cougars with 22 points. Garner Meads added 10 points for BYU, which has not won at Utah since a 64-62 victory Jan. 8, 1994. The Cougars were heading toward snapping the 10-year skid with a 34-19 halftime lead, but Utah started hitting shots and outhustling the Cougars on the boards in a thrilling comeback.

After falling behind 36-19 early in the second half on a layup by Mark Hall, the Utes used an 8-0 run to get back into it and revive the home crowd. Bogut hit a 3-pointer, Chaney tipped in a rebound and Tim Drisdom converted a three-point play to get Utah back within single digits.

Bogut took over from there, scoring eight straight for Utah to get the Utes to 40-34 with 14:31 remaining. He also had 12 rebounds.

Jacobson's 3-pointer after an offensive rebound made it 44-39, and the Utes kept cutting into the lead.

Bogut went 1-for-2 from the line after drawing Rafael Araujo's fourth foul with 8:59 remaining to trim it to 46-42, then putback an offensive rebound to make it a two-point game. Meads missed a free throw for BYU, then Jacobson hit a long 3-pointer with 7:16 remaining to give Utah its first lead at 52-50.

Jacobson added another 3 and Drisdom followed with one from beyond the arc as the Utes pulled away for good.

The kids stock is on the rise, just a little worried about his weight. Hope he doesn't get too big (put on like 20kgs since arriving at Georgia).

That Jacobson shot was awesome. Off the Bogut assist too. AB was solid in the title game, iced a couple of free throw at the death.
