I got this DVD on Friday, to be honest I was a little aprehensive, I had last saw this movie some 20 odd years ago, and the translation onto the TV screen was not successful.

The movie was produced in an arty documentary style, simulataneous "letter box" images on screen with larger storyline scenes.

This had the effect of swamping a TV screen, delineation that was so evident in the picture theatre, was lost in the confusion.

So with relief, watching it after the footy, I was pleasantly surprised, the DVD images came up sharp, well defined, each view maintaining individual integrity, whilst still adding to the total comprehension of both the story, and the secondary "peeping tom" view of a killer.

This is not for everyone, there is no slam bang action, it is a movie investigating a killer, and going inside his head.

IMO, it is Tony Curtis' best acting performance, Henry Fonda gives his usual professional imput, the rest of the cast is hardly noticable, which is fine, it's that sort of movie
