Considering how close this season has been, is there a case to play all Rd 23 games at 2pm on a Saturday? Or maybe the ones that have an impact on the order of the final 8? Not sure how you would do that but I quite like the PL scenario where all games are played at the same time.

yes it could happen given only two of those games are in Melbourne but the pies game would start at 11am local time which is probably unfair on the crowd/players

Good point. I hadn’t considered timezones. How about 2pm Perth time 4pm Melbourne time? Or 1pm Perth time?

Not sure that we have enough stadia to do it?

MCG, Docklands, Perth, Adelaide, SCG, GABBA, Showgrounds, Gold Coast ...

8 stadia for 9 games?

And if they did, it would limit the fixture significantly

There are a few of those smaller grounds like the one in the alice, ballarat, kardinia park. There are a few more but these were the ones off the top of my head.

Yes I'm sure the AFL would be extremely interested in completely destroying their viewership for a round in the name of integrity

It’s a pointless exercise, IMO. Firstly it’s a logistical nightmare for our competition and secondly there’s nothing tangible riding on it for us.

With how much they potentially have riding on results (promotion/ relegation, the championship being decided and European football) I get it for European soccer, but not for us or any other sport.

Would need to be something like:
MCG - Pies v tigers
Docklands - Carlton v freo
Perth - west coast - v essendon
Adelaide - Adelaide v St Kilda
SCG - Sydney v port Adelaide
Tasmania - hawks v north
Gabba - Brisbane v gws
Kardinia - Geelong v Melbourne
Carrara - Gold Coast v western bulldogs

In the following years, states with 1 stadia can have the opposing occupant take the ground and switch places. Other grounds and occupants/hosts could be

Ballarat - Western Bulldogs
Showgrounds - GWS
Darwin - Melbourne

Can definitely be achieved
