I feel that a big problem this week was all the talk about who would go out for Chapman. It probably proved a distraction. the Geelong players need to focus for the biggest game of their lives, and the media kept going on about who would Chapman replace.
We should have tested him earlier in the week, and made the decision on Tuesday. Then we could put it behind us and focus on the GF and Hawthorn. But the constant speculation probably played with our preparation.
If there was any doubt on Chapman, we should have just kept him out of the team. At least last year, when King replaced Blake, we knew on Monday or Tuesday at the latest, and could focus on the task at hand.
I just hope that if we are in the Grand Final last year, we have an unchanged line-up going in, so that we don't need to talk about who to replace.
