good thread, i liked the analysis in the OP.

you guys deserve to be confident, i expect the pies to be too much for us at this stage of our development.

i think wce will have a promising start to the match, but the pies will wear them down. i notice the pies have an uncanny ability to score goals against the flow. it totally kills a side who is on a roll.

last time we played, i felt we were half-decent in the first half. things weren't going our way, but we weren't disgraced. it was the pies ability make goals out of nothing that killed us, before we knew it, we were 4 goals down. after that, it was over.

i'm hoping we aren't disgraced, as pies will bring their A-game. it'll be awesome experience for our younger guys.

beat carlton in a semi and the season is a success for mine.

Your season is already a success regardless of whether you win a final or not. 16th to 4th is a success in anyone's language.
Winning one will be an awesome added bonus though.

expectations change with results...

i guess in terms of the season, it's already a success like you say.

i'll rephrase and say a successful finals campaign would be to win one.

it's an empty feeling going out in straight sets, so i'm hoping that doesn't occur.

IIRC thomas destroyed us last time. he will be a big loss for you guys.
Heath Shaw starred too, and he'll be back though, and Ben Johnson and Darren Jolly have returned since then.
can't see us playing any worse than we did in round 10 and likewise can't see collingwood playing any better than they did. should hopefully make for a good game
It was a 52 point margin, and although it may not be that much, I think Collingwood should still be able to win by five goals. Dale Thomas is definitely a loss, but Ben Johnson was missing in Round 10, and I don't think West Coast will have 55 to 18 hit outs with Darren Jolly in the ruck instead of Cameron Wood rucking alone because Leigh Brown was missing too. That is the main area where Collingwood can get much better than last time.

I'll take a 5 goal loss happily. 10 goals and it starts getting into messing with our young guys heads territory for the week after.
