Really noticed today how old and quiet the Eagles crowd is compared to ours. You would have thought after 3 and a half years they would have been shouting the house down.

Really proud of the Dockers faithful too - almost everyone stayed to the bitter end.

Good point, probably the only person under 60 is the fat bloke that shat himself when Mickey O shaped up to him.....

We should be thankful they are wiggles supporters tho, thank fk they don't come to our games.

Listening to it on Foxtel I thought it was louder than it normally is, perhaps they left the knitting at home.....knit one, pearl two, knit one, pearl two....

Yeh Eagles home games are essentially a big day out for Perth's senior citizens. When the played Melbourne it was like watching the snooker world championships

All too busy figuring out whether they should knit booties or a blanket for their next grandson.

probably because alot of the eagles members have been members since day dot and have aged abit along the way :) atleast we know they stick by there team, pretty hard for younger supporters to even get a eagles membershi these days, oh by the way nice game today fellas, peace out

Have to agree that they were eerily quiet in the last 10 minutes. At the city end at least. Perhaps it was just relief that a bit of the monkey is off the back. Bit disappointing really, but most of them are listening to headphone radios and probably aren't aware that they're actually at the game and not watching the telly.

sat at the subi end, was pretty quiet most of the game and certainly not as loud as the freo home games i've been to.

hardly surprising tho when their cheersquad comprises of fat daniel and an old bloke who tucks his shirt into his jocks

also someone was holding up a hungry jacks sign? :|

As much as I'd like to argue with you I was watching the game not the crowd.

Erm, I'm pretty sure you hear a crowd, not watch them

I actually feel sorry for the majority of young weages, as they have little to no chance of getting a regular gig. They have been sold out for years, and the blue rinse set will not relinquish their seats. They are happy to sit and shout " Ball !! " or " Out ".

The sooner a new stadium is built the better :thumbsu:

Meh, we've always known this and it probably is a case of demographics.

Is it really threadworthy?

This was my first away derby sitting outside of the cheer squad and I noticed the lack of noise too... When we were comfortably beating them at home like they were today, Subi is consistently louder than a foghorn!

I think the biggest roar came when Naita kicked that goal at the end.

And it'll be gone in a week, probably replace it with something stupid Esti says.

Or more likely a collection of words from 20 different posts edited in a manner that would make Hutchie proud.

Can't wait until the oldies move on (not necessarily die though) and the people who have been on the waiting list for years get a seat. The old guy behind me still gets angry at Chad Fletcher...

No need to act all surprised, it's been like this forever. I had some old guy have a go at me today for cheering when we were up by 32 points in the last quarter, apparently you're not allowed to make any noise until your team has it 'in the bag' - that also goes a long way towards showing the dead set negative attitude of half of them, not even being confident of a win when their team is up by 6 goals with 15 mins left.

Our members would have to be the oldest on average of any team in the league. If we don't get a new stadium soon the only option is going to be to wait for them to die off one by one so they can be replaced by someone younger.
