Was down at the crows tavern today, its looking pretty good guys I havent been there for years so this is really the first time I can compare it to the Port Club and well The Crows Tavern>The Port Club. This is where all the extra profit goes to I guess but you guys should be proud of your club and the direction its heading.

I have never had a meal at the Crows Tavern I can not comments on how they go about it but the Port Adelaide one is first class. Once you get your head around and forget about the propaganda and historical crap on the walls it is very nice.

I had to attend an AFL sportready graduation awards night (we have a few trainees at work) a few months ago and the facilities are very good.

It is a lot nicer than the SANFL suites they user for meals. IMO of course.

I will not go back to the Port Club until they ban smoking, it absolutely stinks, even in the dining room area, roll on November, and honestly the food at the Crows Tavern is pretty ordinary, good if you smoke, want a punt and play the pokies. I live just down the road.

I worked at the Tav for 4 years!

I still drop in every now and then, it's definitely a great place to be on match day for those who aren't fortunate enough to witness the game first-hand.

Growing up (having been brought up as a Port Adelaide Magpies supporter - don't even ask!) I spent a great deal of time at Alberton and have seen all the changes there since the mid-to-late 80's, I must say it has always been slow in it's changes and is still lagging behind where the hospitality industry is concerned. I have never been a fan of the service either but being a Magpies boy I would always enjoy just being at the club so it never bothered me too much.

I've seen so many changes in my time at the Crows Tavern and since leaving, architectually and employee wise, they really have come a LONG way. They are always striving to provide a great atmosphere to patrons during the week and on weekends, the staff have always been friendly and accomodating and the entertainment provided throughout various promotions in bar and gaming are always good for a laugh

And just in regards to the comment about Profits - it actually works both ways. The Crows Tavern is under the commission of the S.A.N.F.L with direct links to the Adelaide Football Club. The profits made by the Tavern are fed to the Crows (and the S.A.N.F.L) and the profits made by the Adelaide Football Club are fed to the S.A.N.F.L - which inturn finances the Crows Tavern. Ofcorse, a proportion of Adelaide's profits are fed directly to the Tavern but in most cases it is the former. In any case, it's a win-win situation for all parties involved

Tavern is no good because you can't get Coopers.

Cascade Pale Ale will do for a stretch though.
