I would of thought that they should give Patrick Bowden one more year, i thought he proved last year that he is worth a few more years on the contract.

IMO krakouer, meyer, tivendale, hyde, white

You know nothing about football. Yes he isnt a superstar, but to put him in a list of delistings this year is absurd.

Yes, l'm not a fan, but he deserved a spot in our team EVERY week this year.

Yep expect one more to go. I reckon between now and the NSD, Meyer, Moore, White and Howat will get 4 weeks to prove themselves. I honestly reckon, the two worst of these will go.

To be honest, none of them deserve another year, but it is what it is.

Howat doesn't free up a spot, he's a rookie still.

Yep looking at it one more is a must.

That'll make 3 for the ND which is the minimum. Correct?

And a pick for no. 1 in the PSD.

We can still make further delistings up until the week after the ND. IIRC clubs need to have lists of no more than 35 senior listed players by October 31.

First list lodgments( including rookie promotions, retained second year rookies and father / son selections) have to be in by October 31.

Second list Lodgments by November 16.

Delisted Players Nominations for ND close November 21.

National Draft November 24

Uncontracted Listed Players Nominations close November 27

Third List Lodgment and TPP estimates by November 30.

Delisted Players Nominations for PSD close December 7

PSD/Rookie Draft December 11.

I get the feeling that Wallace and the Match Committee have 2-3 players in mind for 1-2 more delistings and want to see how they come back at the start of Pre Season training before making a decision. Also may want to see who falls through to the PSD to see if they are a better fit than players we currently have.

It's sad but true, we need him at the moment. IMO he's an indicator of how far along we are in development. when enough of our young midfielders have genuinely superceded tiv's we'll start to become a real threat.

Totally agreee DW.

Its sad mate, but the best way we can fast track our development and completely clear the decks, is to have another shocker next year. Only way. We all know it, but pride gets in the way of smart business.

Even after these delistings, take another glance of our list and then compare it to Geelongs list. There's still 5 or 6 that are plain and simply not up to it. Just treading water.

glad you've came around mate. I hope for your sake Danny Meyer doesn't dominate at the hawks this season....

Keep him one more year... yes he's treading water, but l'd get rid of another 3 before him.

Wooden spoon me up again next year, if we can finally - ONCE AND FOR ALL - clear the shit.

One small problem about wooden spoon in 2008 would be that Wallace would certainly be sacked before the season is out, leaving us back to where we started with coaching merry-go-rounds.

It may have happened already.

With the addition of McMahon & Morton, the development of King, Deledio Tambling & Jackson, plus the return of Coughlan & Polo, its hard to see guys like Tivendale cementing a spot next season

I guess they couldnt find a photo of Hartigan on the AFL website so they just grabbed one of a player that looked similar to him. Unless i cant see properly. :D

Tivendale will hopefully end up on a wing where he belongs and not in the guts where he gets killed.

McMahon & Morton maybe, but I wouldn't really consider the rest as 'wingmen'..ie, outside mids/receivers, and I wouldn't want to rely entirely on 2 new guys.

Tiv stays for another year or two, even if it's just as backup.

We have winger types in Deledio, Tambling, Edwards, Hyde and now McMahon and Morton - more than enough to move on with.

And guys like Jackson and Polo should be replacing Johnson in the inside mid / tagger role.

IMO Tivendale and even Johnson are holding places that others must be alowed to take up if we are to improve.

Johnson should seriously contemplate retirement - I apreciate his efforts at the club but he has done all he can and should make way. Agree that Tivendale could stay for another year, mostly at Coburg as an injury-replacement option.

Disagree mate. Johnson is not the best player in our 22, but he definitely isn't the worst. I think he is undervalued in terms of the confidence he can give our kids when the pressure is on. We can't have 18 teenagers running around, we need some experience out there to lead and teach them.

Similar to Joel, I don't think you can write off a bloke many of our kids look to hand off to when they're under the pump. He may not play in our next grand final but he definitely has value as we get games into the boys.

What a bunch of hacks, can't even get the player pictures right. How about the richmond site for mitch morton. Who was that guy that put in as him anyway?
