Hopefully there is decent time for pre-loading the beta seeing as it drops during the week and only for a few days.

What platform are you on Michaels ?

we should be able to download / pre load it tomorrow night and then it goes live Thursday.

If you pre ordered the game and got the code from EB / JB, all you have to do (by the looks of it) is just register that code on the UBI website and because that is linked to your PSN / X BOX account the game should appear in the store to download tomorrow.

I've got it on PS4, what about you?

PS4 here too. Will have to join up at some point. Was tossing up between PS4 and PC but I’ve got family and old Destiny buds jumping on PS4 so I’m going to follow. I’m going digital this time around. Always did it with the receipt code in the past but this time I’m guessing the PS store should just let me download it through there if that’s where I’ve preordered. I haven’t actually checked to be honest.

yeah for sure, especially with the 8 man raids we can combine our squads and have a crack at it!

yep it should just appear in your store. below info from UBI on how to access the Beta:

If you pre-ordered a digital version
You don’t need to do anything. Simply keep an eye out for the Beta download to become available on your platform and start playing when the Private Beta kicks off!

If you pre-ordered a physical version
By the time the beta starts, you will have received a code from your retailer. This might be delivered to you closer to the start of the beta and may either be printed on your receipt, a leaflet or be sent to you via email. If you are unsure if you received the code or how it should be delivered to you, please check with your retailer, they should be able to help.

The code you received needs to be redeemed on this website. If you need help with this process, please take a look at the information we put together in a separate article.

It will be for consoles? For PC this should be quite easy (assuming you talking about the matchmaking component)

More so getting 8 not only geared enough but competent enough randoms. Clans should help players congregate. It was bad enough getting PUGs of 6 outside of our clan for both PS4 or PC. Then if the game doesn’t do well after 6 months it will be even tougher to find 8 competent randoms unless there is something like in WoW with 10 man vs 25 man for same content. I know there are some pretty handy Discord servers and sub reddits to find people but 8 might be pushing it this day and age. Outside of 8 being two standard teams of 4 I can’t imagine why they picked 8 unless the raids will be nothing more than super spongy enemies because it’s not like The Division has different classes that are required outside of maybe someone in full Reclaimer gear.

This is the right way to do it. The final state of The Division 1 is great after a crappy launch. Instead of trying to reinvent the whole thing they’re starting from the state the first game ended in.

If day one release is anything like Division 1 was at the end (including a few little tweaks here and there) this game is going to be amazing

I see these sort of comments a lot. As someone who put about 100 hours into the original at launch then dropped it never touching it again, what exactly was improved by the end?

Can't see it on the store. Is it a pre order thing or an open beta?

Private (Assuming PS4) You should be getting the code via an email from Ubisoft with the code to redeem which will then show up in your download list.

Im not sure whether i got mine because i signed up here

Or did the Amazon order/cancel trick, but try both and hopefully you should get an email.

It was mostly the end game content and new modes along with a multitude of small changes especially to the PVP Dark Zone component. Essentially they had PVP modes, global events etc

The initial release as you probably remember had poor endgame contact which lost a lot of the player base after the initial 6 months

If the game comes out with much of the end game content the same, this game will be a big hit and hopefully maintain the player base

Neither seem to have gotten me a key. Ahh well.

On top of Hawk88’s comment regarding end game, the game got over its identity crisis and realised what it was and that was something closer to the game style of Diablo. On top of daily and weekly stuff to do (that’s common of the genre anyway) the entire wnd game was tweaked. From improving the DZ, creating world tiers for max level players, single player DZ style area (West Side Piers), adding some cool game modes such as Operations and Survival (which were unfortunately unpopular due to so low overall player count), and a genuine carrot on the string that was similar to Diablo. Drops are random with random rolls and there are gear sets that you create builds out of. The sets have their unique perks but the rolls on their attributes are random. There was some pretty heavy theory crafting in the end, including fan made similators, on trying to work out the best builds.

At launch the end game was finite and they took too long to address it. Once it became more like Diablo the game pretty much became endless, only determined by your willingness to grind. A lot of people still won’t like it but that’s cool. Not everyone is interested in a grind or can’t get the hang of RPG style games where enemies have health bars and don’t just die from a few bullets. But once Division worked out who it was it really shined and that’s why I’m so keen for Division 2. Hopefully more people are taken by it and it has a healthier population for longer.

Well said, the comparison to Diablo is pretty much spot on

I don't really understand the hate for bullet sponge bosses. I quite like them as they are quite difficult and take team work to take down. The reward at the end usually justifies the time it takes to complete

Maybe its just a Gen Y thing where they all want quick game play and a reward for little to no work

I think it’s just that a lot of people get the impression that because they are firing a gun then stuff should die. Replace the guns with spells or swords in a fantasy MMO and no one has any complaints. The Division is probably closer to a RPG in terms of combat than it is to any shooter anyway.

Installed the Beta last night, bloody pumped to get stuck into this tonight.

So much to do as well which is great, from everything i have read and watched they seemed to have nailed this game.

the only minor tweak I'd like to see them make, is when using a sniper that it shouldn't go to scope straight away, they should have left it how it was from Div 1.
