Jerry West has joined the Memphis Grizzlies as President of Basketball operations. This pretty similiar to job he had at the Lakers for almost 20 years. This man is responsible for the 1979 first draft being traded to the Lakers and for 1982's first draft pick also going to the Lakers. We picked up Magic and Worthy with these picks. He initiated the Abdul-Jabbar trade to the Lakers and was also responsible for Shaq being traded to the Lakers. The man is a legend.

He is also the silhoette on the NBA badge.

Do you think he can build the worst performing franchise in NBA History (.229 winning percentage - NBA lowest) into a power??

Without a doubt. He already has the cattle with Battier and Gasol and he is so savvy with his trades...he also has tradeable players like Wright, Williams etc...also has a draft pick to move or use. He will turn them around! Cant believe he left he Lakers? Maybe he had nothing left to prove.

Hate to correct you yet again (no, really) but the Grizz don't have an early draft pick as things stand.

It is due to be sent elsewhere as a part of a previous deal, that could change however.

All West needs is trade-bait and he can generate a first round pick, or two. He did it in 1979 and 1982.

As most know i've been a keen observer of the Grizz since my man Pau Gasol landed there.

I have no doubt that they will be a playoff team next year if they can stay healthy. They need more then 4 games from Mike D, they need 70-80 games from Lorenzon Wright, and must at least have either JWill or Brevin playing night in night out.

If the Grizz get to keep their draft pick i don't think they'll shop anyone, but if they don't keep it, i'd expect them to shop JWill, whilst being a great player alot of the Grizzlies players (especially Pau Gasol) prefer Brevin Knights style.

Heheheheheh Grizzlies and playoffs next year LOL!!

Not a chance in the West. Lakers, T-Wolves, Dallas, Sacramento, Spurs already have 5 spots sown up. Houston with a fully fit Franchise should go to the playoffs, the Sonics are still quality, the Clips are getting better and better and the Suns are still alright. Grizz have no hope...not for a few years yet.
