If they go another whole episode with Slow Barry I am going to do my block. This season needs to hurry up and get to the damn point already, I am sick of watching people sitting around talking.

the constant hinting at Jessie and Wally getting the speed force today was annoying, they were doing a good job keeping it subtle till today. It was almost shoehorned into every conversation about them.

So i think they sent Barry to Earth-1 or Earth-3. and nextweek will be about getting him back, and Wally and Jessie finding out they have meta-powers.

I think someone is going to die in the season final, my money will be on Joe or Henry.

I think nextweek is the Kevin Smith episode, it was said to rejuvenate the cast and writers. and today it was announced he will direct another one next season.

So zoom is busy on earth 1, Barry to end up on earth 2 with his speed he will go rescue the masked man (who will conviently be a speedster maybe the real jay Garrick) and they will come back to earth 1 for flash, kid flash, Jessie quick and iron mask to 4 way zoom

So Henry revealed his mothers maiden name was Garrick wonder if that means we will see the real Jay after all and I guess he would be related to Barry from earth 2.

Anyway speaking of names Im sick of the writers mixing up the name and having the characters refer to the aliases. It was reveled to them that Zoom is Hunter Zoloman so why still call him Jay.

Well... that was interesting.

Looks as though that Barry is stuck in his own subconscious world/Matrix world of sorts judging by the promo for next week's ep.

Has been obvious for a while now - especially given that Quick and Wally have powers in the comic world - that these two would gain powers some way or another. I guess the particle accelerator answers that question. But as someone else noted earlier, geez the writers were throwing it in the viewers face (Wally wanting to quit engineering to become a 'crime fighter'; Jesse saying they "don't have any powers")

As for the revelation that Harry's mothers maiden name is Garrick, all signs now point to the man in the iron mask being the real speedster Jay Garrick. Given the surname lineage, it would mean he'd be the great uncle of Barry (Harry's uncle/Harry's mum's brother)... or could it be Barry's great grandfather that has travelled through time (Harry's grandfather/Harry's mum's father).

Yes that bugs me also. They still do it with Wells from earth one, they all know that it was Eobard Thorne and not the real Harrison Wells so why do they still refer to him as Wells and not Thorne?

My only logical guess is that its for the younger audience but that wouldnt be kids enough credit. I honestly have no idea why they do it.

They did Wells thing last ep aswell when earth 2 wells said he would using his counterparts science to create the explosion.

It makes the characters look stupid.

Eh, certainly wouldn't say it was one of the best ever. Not terrible, but the show is always on the weaker side when it dials up the melodrama.

Hopefully now Barry has his speed back we get some good old fashioned action for the last two episodes. Still keen to know who the man in the mask is. My money is on the real Jay Garrick, possibly played by John Wesley Shipp.

Also: Zoom is a much better villain when he keeps his mask on.

Thought most of it was pretty good. Found it really interesting delving into Barry's character. Although the actress playing Iris is really ordinary at the best of times and it got shown up here.

Two things.

A) Wasn't Zoom there at the end of last week's episode telling them how they killed the Flash? So did he just...leave?
B) That scene at the end was really cringeworthy. Since when does Zoom have friends? And the whole "our world" thing. Ugh.

Zoom seen the remnants of The Flash's suit and assumed he was destroyed in the blast like the others. Zoom has shown he doesn't care enough about the others to kill them (probably to appease Caitlyn) and is only really interested in Flash so why wouldn't he leave? It wouldn't be out of character.

He's clearly just using the other metas as henchmen to do his bidding to show Caitlyn and Earth 1 who is boss.

And yes Iris is and has always been painfully ordinary.

Is Kevin Smith really that good of a director?

I didn't really see anything shot in a different style to previous weeks that blew me away. Just seems like a run-of-the-mill director moreso known for wearing nothing more than hockey guernseys 24/7.

As for the episode writing-wise, I didn't mind it as it gave us a chance to delve into developing Barry a little further as a character. But now that he has finally accepted letting his mum die and not changing the past, does anyone else foreshadow the season finishing with Zoom killing Henry to throw him out of whack again?

Yeah I thought the same. There's not really enough room to have both him and Joe in the regular cast, so they'll need to contrive a reason to get rid of one of them.

I was thinking that if they get John Wesley Shipp to play the real Jay Garrick in the mask, then they could kill Henry and still bring the actor back for recurring appearances. The masked prisoner using a POW code to communicate seemed to indicate it was an older character (Zoom's father fought in some kind of war).

Seems that way but when Barry was on earth 2 his dad seemed to have a normal life by how they described it. I suppose Jay Garrick doesnt have to be a speedster, just.have to see how it plays out I guess.

Kevin Smith has said that along with directing more Flash nextyear he wants to write a 2-episode mini arc for Arrow next season. that would be nice since he revived the Green Arrow comic in the early 2000's

Bringing Eddie back for more than a brief cameo would be difficult now that Quantico has been renewed. Unless he's been killed on that show? I don't watch it.

I like Cavanagh, but this gravly, Batman style voice he puts on for Earth 2 Wells must be getting annoying for him to do.
