Haha I didn't see this one coming. Well say what you will about Dyson but we are undefeated with him in the team. I wouldn't mind him getting a full game next week to have a chance to pick up the pace of seniors (I know he was rubbish today). That's if Hooker/Watson aren't back obviously. I just reckon its a bit unfair to drop guys on the basis of their effort as a sub when basically most subs have little to no impact. Also that first free that was paid against Ricky was totally a wrong call, he did handball it, so wasn't a great start for him.

Honestly, he'll be begging for it. I assume they don't ping you for a perfectly legitimate handpass in the VFL.

The poor bloke busts a guy all year trying to get an opportunity and then when he does, the upmires do their best to make sure he never gets another chance.

****ing digraceful how they can make such rookie umpiring mistakes. You wouldn't see that shit in under 13's tbh.

I'd be expecting no one to get dropped. Riemers, Davey, Jetta and Colyer (until injured) provided great forward pressure last night.

Riemers might not be getting heaps of the pill but he adds some spark and x factor. He should have kicked 3 last night if he kicked straight.

3 goal assists (the most for us) and kicked 0.3. He was very much in the game just didn't finish as well as he normally does. His pressure was great too.
 
Did a good job on Deledio but not sure if it was huge influence on the outcome. i reckon the throw call was similar to Hardingham's V Sydney, it bobbled in his hand and then he fisted it. Letter of the law says throw but they let go Jake King front knuckle fisting the ball above his head type handball so there is no consistency at all.
 
Anyway i reckon the game changer was the Houli **** up before 3/4 time, was more the poor kick to him but he must of been wishing the ground would open up and swallow him.
 
It's kinda unfair to judge 1.5 quarters of football. If he plays a whole game and gives us nothing, then fair enough, but he was competitive, and mystifingly crucified by the umpires.

Give him a proper crack at Football Park.

I lold when his first touch after 14wks in the vfl was called a throw when he clearly handballed it.

Another shocking display from the umps this weekend. I counted at least 3 times when they pointed the wrong way when awarding free kicks. They are complete muppets. It's like every week there are massive howlers of mistakes. I think this year is the worst year of umpiring in my living memory. Surely Gieschen will get the sack at the end of the year.

What the hell was going on there? Not only did they point the wrong way, did anyone notice the ump calling the wrong way too? Worst umpiring display I've seen all year.

I'm glad someone else noticed that, I thought I was going mad!

I was trying to explain the rules of AFL to my missus who is new to the game. I told her that the umpires point in the opposite direction to the goals of the side who are getting the free kick. she said "they must have changed that rule because he was pointing to Essendon's goals for the Essendon free kick"

*facepalm*
