very true, but how do you convince a kid who will play for years in hope to play in a test team, or can be a t20 freelancer player, play around the world in t20 tournaments easy money for hits and giggles

Seems if you hit thru the line you are fine, even if it hits a crack itll move way too far to take an edge. Havent seen many keep low to be fair.

You've summed it up pretty much. Unless the ball jags back and hits you on the body the cracks are just too large to cause the kind of movement needed to find an edge.
