In Melbourne in all of 2026 so far we've only had 4 days that have gone over 35. Most of the rest have barely reached mid 20s.

I'm getting accustomed to the heat - 32 degrees is quite pleasant in the shade.

What's got me worried is the complete lack of rain, even by Adelaide summer standards. Tin roofs, cars in the street are filthy due to the lack of rain giving them a little rinse every so often.

The stagnant rubbish, dust and grime in the city also means if some drunk dude pisses in the street one night, it just keeps smelling like piss from there.

The rain like the heat can be your best friend or your worst enemy. Try being in the bush for weeks on end when it's pissing down non stop. Relentless. We had to endure such conditions in the army. From one extreme to the other. As I previously mentioned we had to do H.I.I.T on treadmills in the sauna and even sleep in there to condition ourselves for overseas duty. Insanity. But we had to do it or find another job. Many blokes couldn't sustain it and quit.

We got it easy. Trust me.

Haven't experienced to many nights like last night.

The rain is great.

Had a 40th last night and it was very sticky inside dancing around and even leaving at midnight, it was very warm and dry for that time of night.
