Is he going to be picked up under the father son rule as I have not heard much about him this year.

Whoops my bad... :p, They mentioned Mark after they replayed it so thats what stayed in my head... but yerr, if he's takin a grab like that, he should be doin pretty well for himself :thumbsu:...
One question, anything heard about the younger Cordy Zane. Just bringing it up in curiosity and remembered last time I read of our F-S list, him and young Wallis were Rave Reviews.

I have heard the same, apparently needs a huge kick up the ass if he is going to make it
Could probably take a lesson in attitude from Terry Wheelers nephew who is working hard at Coburg.

Hell, if he isn't with anyone by the rookie draft then he (Willie Wheeler) might be worth a shot.

He's no Kingsley Hunter.

Yep and Collingwood have got their sticky hands all over him.

Anyone care to venture what hunter might go for in the 2012 draft? We talking top 10, or late first round or....

If we can manage to squeeze our first round pick and ward compo pick in before other clubs pulled the trigger on Hunter, we could get him with our 2nd rounder which would be a great outcome Im guessing...

I don't know anything about him. Not even where he plays now so we can sneak a peak.

However, I reckon with father sons we need to play it really cool. It's too easy for other clubs to nominate their first round pick as the price, when they know we want the player. Be better if there was some doubt in their mind, so that in fact they may have to take that player with their first round pick. They may think twice about doing it.

Should be possible with some of the line ball guys.

If we arent playing finals next year, we will have a lot to gain by finishing low on the ladder. The lower we finish, the less chance we will have to spend a first rounder on Hunter.

i.e assuming hunter is worth a mid first round pick.
finish mid table: 1st round pick 12, compo pick 13 Hunter F/S, 2nd round pick 30

is a hugely worse than:

finish bottom 4: 1st round pick 6, compo pick 7, 2nd round pick 25 Hunter F/S.

Sort of similar to Troy Taylor but swap homesickness with attitude,

1st round pick- for talent
Late Rookie- for mentality

Whatever he is he certainly doesn't sound like Round 1 material. Not in the Libba/Wallis class - people were talking them up continually for the last 18 months before they got drafted.

Unless he suddenly sets the junior comp alight I would be perturbed if we looked at him with anything more than a 3rd or 4th rounder. Even then it may be over the odds.

That Troy Taylor is an absolute spud. Seen, and played against him numerous times, and i never got what all the fuss was about. Struggled in local footy.

I think he has the potential to go really high, but i'm only talking potential. If he was eligible for this year's draft, I'd pick him up late in the draft from what I've seen. Should improve if he has the right attitude.

So after reading through this tread, no can answer the question. Can this Kid play?

The AFL once again screwed the dogs over with the changing of the father son rule. Under old father son rules both Sam and Ben Reid should have been bulldogs. And wallis and Libber should have been taken with picks 74 and 88.

And now it looks like we are going to continue to waste good picks on kids that have a name but not proven. Hope they don’t waste precious draft picks on their fathers names.

Talent wise, you bet he can play. I would put his value around pick 20-25 maybe? No question though, he can play.

The question marks over his attitude is the worrying thing.
