then
when the scoreboard caught fire against the scum
then
the 51 point comeback against whorethorn
then
rd 23 vs swans in 2014
then
murdering pies in '15

but qf1 and the prelim were amazing.

so, since 83, what are the games you've seen live you remember most fondly?

The third Cairns game v the Suns when we finally gave those noobs a lesson and I won a bet against my brother in law that seen him wear a Tigers Guernsey for the rest of the week.
Fantastic.
#sospecial

Richo kicking 10 v the Dogs in 2004.
Jack kicking 10 v the Eagles in 2010.
The 'Andy Collins' game win over Sydney in 2010.
Dreamtime 2011 win, when we all thought Vickery had just broken out.

The 2017 QF & PF wins are on a plane of their own though.

So many memories...

Abletts bags every time we played them.
Billy kicking a bag when Ablett was injured...just so Richmond.

Dunstalls 17. Was sort of hoping he would get the record as well, gave one off in the last.

Beating the hawks at VFL park on a horrendously wet day after years of thrashings.

Mothers Day massacre against the Pies a standout in another bad year.

Tony Free doing his knee.

Kicking 8 goals in the first qtr against the Kangas in a night game in 94.

Essendon drawn night game in 95.

95 semi final - knights 3 goals and scotty turner with the winner. Singing the Richmond song with the crowd the next week in the rain at Waverley even though we were being belted by the Cats.

Dunstall kicking 100 goals in the last round of the year to kick us out of the 8 and start a run of 9th placed finishes.

Belting Fitzroy in their last game in Melbourne where Richo marked everything. Sad for them.

Beating the blues in the 2001 final. We were gone until Kouta did his knee.

Rory Hilton doing his knee and throwing his boot into the then construction zone of the MCC stand in what turned out to be his last game.

Matty Knights getting scratched by Libba.

Going to training the days after we picked up the fab 5 - Deledio, Tambling, Patto, Meyers, Polo. So much hope for the future.

Wayne Campbell doing his Achilles and a season ending injury celebrating a meaningless goal at Telstra Dome.

Richos controversial in the back and 50 against against Essendon to cost us the game on a Sat night at the G.

Beating the Crowbots by playing a game of keepings off - Wallaces best coaching game at Richmond.

The Jordan McMahon game.

Carlton and North Elimination final losses.

Geelong and GWS finals wins this year.

I'm sure I've seen a few more that I've repressed.

Go tiges.

Some time in the 1960s when the great Fred Swift kneed John Peck up the arse so hard at Glenferrie Oval that he nearly drove his spine through the top of his skull, right in front of the umpire. Dropped him like the proverbial. (Peck got a free and kicked a goal, but stuff that).

Kicking 4 goals in the wet against the Mighty Hawks in 94 - and winning.:):):)
Watching Fraser Brown kick 2 goals out of his *se in the last 5 minutes to beat us.:'(:'(:'(
Watching Melbourne play the worst, most feeble football I have ever seen - and still beat us.:eek::eek::eek:
The QF in 80 when we annihilated Carlton. It was 18 goals to 5 with 5 minutes to go, and we completely shut up shop and let them double their score - one of the greatest insults I have seen.:cool::cool::cool:
Dragga's knee #1:(
Newie breaking his leg:(
Justin Plapp kicking 3 goals in his first game and 5 in his second! this kid's going to be great!! (Third game - no, he's not).

Beating reigning premier Carlton in '88
Smashing Fitzroy in the last game of '88
Beating Geelong in '83 at VFL Park when it pissed hail and was about 5 degrees
Night grand final in '83 loss to the blues. A decade later, same result v's bombres
KB's 400th
The resurgence in '94 and then backed it up in '95

I went to about 15 games in both 94 and 95, what years they were!

The game jurica played at princes Park against wet toast, the flogging we gave North, flogging Collingwood at the g when they only kicked 4 goals (maybe that was in 94). The drawn game against essendon. Of course the semi against the bummers, and the prelim at Waverley.

The game against St kilda at princes park when Wayne thornborrow dominated so much that we had to draft him!

Richo's last game, against Port.

Jack kicking 10.

Went in the rooms before the game when Dave Wheadon was assistant, that was cool.

Lots of losses but I've forgotten them :)

  1. Hawks comeback in 2003; 51-points down at the main break and leading at 3-qtr-time for a 4 goal win!
  2. Jack's 10 (5 in the first if memory serves).
  3. Beating StK in 2012 and shoring up our finals birth, only to lose 3 in a row by less than a kick later in the season (we were never letting that happen again, right?)
The Jordan McMahon game.
Please!

...the 51 point comeback against whorethorn ...

At quarter time of that game I moved from level one Southern Stand next to some Hawthorn supporting mates to the top deck to sit by myself, precisely because I had feeling that first seat was unlucky.

So I am personally responsible for that win.

You're welcome.

Terrible vision but it's all I could find. Scores level at the start of the clip. On the night we were convinced in the crowd that we'd either lose or it was a draw.
2005, Richo's 200th against Port at Etihad. Reigning premier defeated by the reigning wooden spooner, we came back from 30 down at quarter time and annihilated them for the rest of the match. That was unbelievable.
I was very lucky to choose to go to Sydney and saw both of the 100 point wins over GWS. 11 goal second quarter the first time and Jack kicked 11 in the second one.

Other than a win today it will be very hard to top this year's two finals. Spine tingling stuff that will stay with all of us forever!!

If you were at that game you would know what I'm talking about.

Winning against a side that was quite obviously tanking to get an extra pick in front of us in the draft.

Jordy- the guy who cost us Callan Ward in a trade, does the only decent thing in his whole Richmond career and kicks the goal we didn't really want him to kick to win the game. So Richmond.

Worked out for us in the end though as the Demons overlooked Dusty on draft day- twice.

I was there, it was the most frustrating day of my life and I felt ashamed of the club watching it.

I'm going to go off piste with a shoulda been. 2005 (I think) I was in Sydney to attend my first academic conference and start researching my PhD at the Mitchell Library. I was staying at an old friend's flat in Darlinghurst, I finished on a wet and miserable Saturday and had an afternoon to spare before an evening flight back to Melbourne. But as it was pissing down with rain I just stayed in the flat and read a book. I then turned on the tv for the news before heading off to the airport and there was a short report which reminded me that Richmond had been playing at the SCG that afternoon - a short bus trip from Darlinghurst. That was the match where Richo kicked 7 out of ten goals to win in the pouring rain. I could have been there and, what makes it worse, I've never found any footage of that match.
