How does he get a game?Is he the worst player ever to pull on the red and black? Lets be honest, if it werent for his name he wouldn't be even at an AFL club, he worse than henneman, which is almost impossible, but Joel, gods gift to football, has achieved this great honour. Im just curious am I the only one that can see this guy is a hack, or do others see the light? Cause honestly, if this dud is better than Stanton, Dyson, Lovett-Murray, Cupido, Watson, Alvey, WInderlich, Allan, Hille or Thomas (all players he got a game ahead of), than I'll be a monekys uncle.
 
The disapointing thing is he dominates at reserves level. Always looks a class apart from the rest. As soon as he walks out in an AFL jumper he becomes a different person. Unsure and tentative. I just cant work out why this is. Why he can't make the transition.
Sheeds doesn't help him. He dominates half back in the reserves. what does sheeds do? make him the 6th forward. He should have been put on a luke power, he has the engine to run with him, then the height to out manouver. We may have got the drive out of the backline we miss from rama.
 
I rate Joel. I still think he is going to be a good player for us and he has played good senior football in the past.

However, Luke Power kicked two goals in a row on Joel when Joel made simple decision making errors that put a holt on any attempt at a comeback.

- almost plays football

Should become an umpire. Is almost built for it...

I don't get it. So many post saying that Joel is a great runner, really fast etc etc.

The games I have seen him play for BGO, he didn't look that fast. He was taking clean possesion of the ball etc but his leg speed really wasn't up to par.

Luke Power killed him last night.

Luke Power is the biggest SQUIB playing football at the moment, a complete SQUIB! Wouldnt know what a hard ball get is, nothing but a reciever who hangs around the outside of the packs looking for the easy touch. He wont leave brisbane, looks to good in that team. Send him to another and he'll be the next Des Headland, looks good in a fantastic team where he can get his easy touches but put him any other team and would finally get that hard ball get that were all waiting for.

Praise the lord someone finally agree with me. how he gets votes is beyond me.
 
Joel Reynolds is the biggest hack to play for essendon this year, when he dropped that easy mark going forward when we had a little momentum it drove me insane. play stanton or dyson or monfries or anyone anyone instead

This little maggott wont leave brisbane, he knows he can earn triple of what he is getting at brisbane but wont leave due to looking good in a team like that. Put this squib in a north or freemantle jumper and he will get exposed for his lack of heart, and lack of getting the hard ball (go and see headland). 20 points down and this squib puts the bad BO on and no one goes near him and turns the game again. I would love to know who was on him at that stage (sure it wasnt Ty seeing he is being blamed for everything that went wrong) A squib of the highest order! He should be emabarrassed to have 3 premierships around his neck when champions like douggie hawkins and robbie flower dont have one.

WHat game where you watching?? If I remember correctly he was playing on Luke Power until Power kicked 2 goals on him in about 1 minute, destroyed him. You all seem quick to bag Power but we sure could use a guy like him at Essendon at the moment. Weve got nothing!

A guy who hangs round the outside of a pack? I thought that was murphy's job? We couldnt use a guy like power at Essendon, we need players with heart and willing to go in for the hard ball, not a squib hanging round the outside of a pack waiting for the easy touches. The only thing he has is good skills, that's it, a pea heart like murphy who would be exposed in any other team other than brisbane. Would rather a Simon black or Aker as they asctually go in and put their bodies on the line. Luke Power is a SQUIB!

Yep it is Murphy’s job, he isn't getting any of the footy and ain't kicking goals!

What annoys me about Reynolds is that Dyson, Stanton and Monfries all pick up 15+ possessions when they play seniors, which is great out put for the new players. Reynolds has been at the club for several years and anytime he gets a senior gig can't get near it (or drops simple marks). The only thing he has done at the club is win the amateur sprint over 80 meters.

How can he be continually picked before these guys?

Murphy is averaging 18 touches a game and 7 marks.
He is getting the footy, it's his ball use that has me worried.
He has had 5 scoring shots (one a game) but unfortunately hasn't kicked straight.
Our midfield is under enough pressure without getting rid of one of the blokes who is actually getting his hands on the ball, we just need him to use it better.

Joel deserved his spot in the team on Saturday night. He had been in Bendigo's best couple three weeks in a row. I have no trouble with the club picking form players. He didn't have a good game, but that's footy.

He hasn't been. How many games has he played in the past two season? Four games. The poor kid's had terrible luck with injury, worked his way back into the side, played one poor game and people are calling for his head. If that's how we are going to go about rebuilding this footy club, we're going to be down and out for a long time. Give the kid some time to find his place in the team!

Luke Power is regarded by many as one of the finest players in the league. As for being a squib he is currently in the Top 20 tacklers in the competition -2nd for the Brisbane Lions.

He gave Joel Reynolds a touch up in about 5 minutes.

Please find a picture of Justin Murphy under "squib" in the dictionary

Of course you would, but would he have the same affect in our side? Of course not, he wouldnt have the players around him to make him look good or win the Essendon Attitude Barometer Award (gee what a fantastic award, makes him a star). Freakin squib! As im part of a minority, must mean some people agree with me, he is a squib with skills, murphy is just a plain old hak and gives squibs a bad names. Will laugh my a$$ when the day finally comes when he is in his usual position outside the pack and someone cleans him up, will make me very happy!
 
Luke Power is a very good player and would be as good a player at any other club IMO. I don't rate him as highly as the other Lions in the Fab 5 but he's still a great player.

Reynolds didn't have a great game on Saturday, but for heavens sake....if you give him a game at least give him another two games in a row to see what he can do. It's fairly obvious that he lacks confidence at senior level so give him a chance to gain some! I'd much rather see him get a game than a few of the others who are in the senior side at the moment, at least i can see a glimmer of a future in him.
