The Kids are Alright

-Zoedee - Wow, where has this kid been. Sensational prospect. Is already playing Bassett (at his peak) like football in only his 5th game. Composed in traffic, courageous, skilful and great reader of the play. Could be a AA smokey in his first year.
Pretty confident that we got a good bargain (the best we ever had) with some of our young blokes. When it comes to trading and drafting, we won't get fooled again. Despite the form of the SANFL side, I don't think we are a teenage wasteland either. I can see for Myles Poholke being a long term prospect despite being a slip of a kid. You better you bet
Yeah ain't no SUBSTITUTE for youth in MY GENERATION, makes me a HAPPY JACK from BEHIND BLUE EYES.

I CAN'T EXPLAIN but it makes me want to play SUMMERTIME BLUES on my SQUEEZE BOX...ANYWAY, ANYTIME, ANYWHERE.

Nice to see I'm not THE WHO's only fan on here.
How about marty36's cover:

Tommy, can you hear me?
Burton's better than you.

Tommy, can you feel me?
Will not ever cheer you.

Tommy, Tommy, Tommy...

-Gallucci - Have watched the replay a few times and this kid had some really important touches in the last quarter when the pressure would have been enormous. Kicked our last goal of the game in traffic.

-Poholke - Didn't see much of the ball but it was his manic attack at the contest that started our second to last goal of the night. Not sure he has the game to be a long term player but he is as hard as nails. Love him.

-Greenwood - 26 but young in experience. Has taken his game to another level. The perfect example of how stats can sometimes be misleading. His tackling and work in the stoppages on Friday night played a big part in us winning the game.

-Fogarty - Has the skill and aggression that this club has lacked in 20 years. Can't remember ever seeing a 1st year player being as aggressive as this kid. Has no fear and a ton of skill. Would love to see him come in this week as Hartigan most likely will not play. Would send McGovern to the back line.

-Milera - Looks really comfortable and composed at half back. Has built himself up and now appears to be more confident in packs with his bigger body. As someone else said, wait until Smith is back and we have this kid, Smith and the much improved Seedsman running of half back and the wings.

-McPherson - This kid really interests me. People who I have spoken to reckon we got extremely lucky getting this guy. They reckon he will be a 200 game quality player.

We have the foundation of a quality team (obviously) so now is the time to keep blooding the kids at the expense of 3rd tier seasoned veterans. The enthusiasm, aggression and lack of fear they have brought to the team has been amazing.

Welcome to club positive!

Poholke last night was very good, Gooch did some nice things, Doedee should be Rising Star* and that young Gibson kid was alright. Murph was quiet but Fog showed some real class in body use and fakes

* RS won't be awarded to Dude as it would embarrass BT and others

If TD plays in all remaining games, I'd be surprised if he gets another RS nom ... his body is probably trying to acclimatise to the next level of AFL and getting worn out (for this year).

Room for me to join the bromance? Big fan, he doesn't have the tools of some of the other olayers (lightening speed, long leg) but he gives 100% every time and looks like a footballer. Reminds me of someone like Luke Brown or Tom Papley. Just gives his all and attacks every contest. There are worse attributes to have.
Bump

WHO RACKS up the most kilometres in a game at your club? Who's hit the highest speed in a sprint? It's not always who you might think.

Data from the Telstra Tracker in the AFL Live app reveals some familiar faces at the top of club lists, and plenty of surprise leaders in both the distance and speed categories.

ADEL-header.png

Team distance: 2533.8km

Distance kings
1. Riley Knight 14.7km
2. Rory Atkins 14.7
3. Rory Laird 14.4

Knight is at the front of the pack in the Crows' 2km time trials. Atkins covers plenty of territory up and down the wing, while All Australian defender Laird is third in the League for disposals.

Speedsters
1. Lachlan Murphy 34.1km/h
2. Wayne Milera 33.0
3. Tom Doedee 32.8

Murphy's extreme pace has earnt him a spot in the Crows' side as a pressure forward. Milera's ability to break the lines has been handy in his new role across half-back.

Was going to say that's turning out to be a pretty useful document but it's a different one! :D
If you go to the very bottom R/H side of the AFL.com page there is a link called AFL Policies. Click on that link and it opens a page with links to these and other useful resources :thumbsu:

He does have good foot-skills and a reasonable length kick but I think the shots at goal at the 1:30 and 2:00 mark of the footage you provided reveal booming might be a bit of hyperbole. Both shots are on the run at around 50m and don't make the goal lime on the full which reinforces the observation of him struggling to make the distance from a set shot 50m out on a calm day. I made that comment from observation of his kicking after viewing a number of his games. Again, a good kick and good skills; a longer kick than Eddie; a player with great potential who has taken his opportunity with both hands before being injured, but lets wait on the jury and see in good time what happens when he gets a set shot from 50m in neutral weather conditions.
Bump.

No problem on the run, easy peasy

Aah, I was thinking this would come in when he did that kick;). He kicked from 51 meters out on the run and it only scraped over the line. In other words if someone was standing there it would have been touched. I would say from a set shot he would be lucky to be 45 meters at the absolute max,and maybe a fraction less.

I'm really looking forward to bumping this again because I've seen it live right in front of my eyes, it's not even up for debate. You are dead set wrong.

Hey, he's got more of a leg on him than Eddie Betts, and he's not bad on the run, but he's no booming kick. He's OK, but that's about it. Yes, lets bump again when he gets a set shot with his opponent standing the mark around 45 out without a stiff tailwind.
