Smith will have this thread covered...
what do ya's think of them, for mine were my fav of the 'big 4' 60's rock bands, and probably the best band(in my eyes) before the Doors came around.
The Beatles, while having some good material have nothing approaching Waterloo Sunset, You Really Got Me, Tired Of Waiting and Celluloid Heroes. For mine Davies is a superior writer.
I know it's matter of opinion but...Strawberry Fields Forever,Eleanor Rigby,A Day In The Life..and that's just the tip of the iceberg.
Waterloo Sunset is a great song and one of my faves but the middle two do nothing for me. For me the early Kinks is kinda meh and it's only when you get to songs like Dedicated Follower Of Fashion & A Well Respected Man that they become interesting.
One of my current faves is Dandy..classic!
I actually like Herman's Hermits version of Dandy better.
Peter Noone's vocals suited it a bit better.

What "Big 4"? I'm nly aware of a big 2.what do ya's think of them, for mine were my fav of the 'big 4' 60's rock bands, and probably the best band(in my eyes) before the Doors came around.

Beatles

Daylight
The Who
Daylight x2
Kinks, Animals, whole heap of other bands that may have 2 or 3 known songs.
How on earth can you put the Kinks in the same stratosphere as the Beatles and Stones who each had 20+ well known hits in the same period?
The fact you are rating the Kinks along side The Animals says alot about your grasp of music from that time.
Whats the problem?
Both two brilliant bands that deserve to be along side of each other.
A clone of "You Really Got Me" but still, it's damn catchy (I love both songs)All Day and All of the Night - BEST SONG EVER
Actually the fact that you put The Kinks in the same sentence as the Beatles and Stones, and even the Who, shows just how delusional you are.The fact you are rating the Kinks along side The Animals says alot about your grasp of music from that time.

Poor come back.
As I thought might be the case you still provided no evidence whatsoever as to why this is so.
You ranked The Kinks with the Animals obviously blissfully unaware of either bands history or their place in the world music scene.
So if you please, do tell me why The Kinks rank alongside The Animals?
Every single thread i see you in, you seem to be personally attacking people. We are entitled to have an opinion and we are entitled to put it forward.
Perhaps you should go read the sticky at the top of this board (bouncer) and also, don't bother spending 5 or so minutes trying to think of something smart to say, just cop it and move along.
