Like Noah guiding his ark through forty days of flood, Mobbs created the Sweet FA which has steered through 40 seasons of chaos!

Each club a creature!
Each poster a voice!

Loading them aboard the BigFooty’s vessel - ensuring the league endured storms, rivalries, and time - floating forever forward.

Wow that was quick!

Tigerturbulance has cast his discerning eye over this season's entries and, quicker than you can say "Join me in the Chanellor's Lounge for a snifter of brandy", he has cast his judgement upon the works of DemurePrincess Falconista Grav Jabba73 & Ocha905 and in so doing has discharged his duties as adjudicator of the McInnes Prize for season 40.

So without any ado whatsoever, let's count down the results...​

Happy 40th Birthday Queen Lana

Pictured is Lana Del Rey blowing out candles for her 40th Birthday, coincidently it's also Sweet's 40th naming season. Hopefully SFA ages just as gracefully as the Queen. Like Homer adding fins and a racing stripe to his Power Plant model, I added some party attire to make the monumental occasion even more celebratory.

Judge's Notes:

Minimalism taken to the point of negligence. A couple of emojis slapped onto a random image of a non-SFA identity is less “art” and more “Ctrl+V panic attack.” The commentary tried valiantly to stitch relevance to the theme, but instead stitched together a case study in how not to impress a judge. Miraculously, it makes Jabba’s kindergarten collage look like the Louvre.​

73Jabba and the Forty Thieves

One day, 73Jabba stumbled across the 40 thieves, aka self-appointed guardians of the SFA, hiding their stolen trophies using the password “All-SFA”. 73Jabba used that to take his clubs rightful share of the bounty. The thieves tried everything to kill 73Jabba and take back their ill-gotten gains, but were foiled.

Judge's Comments:

A bold experiment in outsourcing creativity from a kindergarten book, elevated only by the artist’s heroic act of slapping his own avatar on top. The accompanying narrative was the saving grace, proving that sometimes words can distract from the crime scene on canvas. At least Jabba showed up, which is more than can be said for the effort.​

Sharon love, I wasn't saying it's time 'for tea'. I said 'forty, the Sweet FA is forty'. Let's crack open the Tia Maria and put on the footy franks!

Judge's Comments:

Finally, a piece where the artist’s head is not just in the clouds but seamlessly in the picture. The candles scream “theme compliance” louder than a changeroom pep talk, and the wit in the description almost makes you forget this is essentially Photoshop 101. A work destined to hang proudly in the club’s least hygienic bathroom.​

An ambitious allegory, casting Mobbs as a mythic Noah corralling beasts into the Sweet FA ark. The fantasy theme is strong, the emotional resonance undeniable, and the execution surprisingly coherent. It’s the kind of piece that makes you nod gravely, then wonder if you’ve just joined a cult.​

A masterclass in Photoshop wizardry. Grav transforms the admin into a sage of seasoning, laying out the herbs and spices of 40 seasons with a modern relevance that speaks directly to today’s qooty captains. It’s slick, it’s layered, and it’s the only entry that looks like it belongs in an actual exhibition rather than a meme folder.​

The mazelest of tovs to Grav for taking it out after a few previous attenpts. The good news now is that not only will Wosh and/or Gralin be by soon to pin a shiny new badge on your chest but you also get to judge next season's entries! Speaking of, many thanks to the other entrants in DemurePrincess Falconista Jabba73 & Ocha905 for putting your shopping chops on show for the world. It probably took you longer to find some nice words to say than it took me to make.

Of course that couldn’t have happened without the eagle eyes of Tigerturbulance who can see class, when it is presented so perfectly before him.

Like to thank my Baghdad teammates, they were all behind me on this one, as a matter of fact, they are all back in the clubhouse waiting to celebrate with me.
