The problem with the media is not enough of them know enough about football and don't know about his change in role.

The points they make to show Jack is being a 'sook' are always almost identical to things other players (even cotchin and/or deledio) do yet he gets pinged for it.

They go over highlights and say he did nothing, they did the same after the Carlton game.

Dimma has already explained it to them and they keep going.

Idiots, some of the worst media in any sport world wide, **** off

There was a guy on fox footy - not sure of his name but he was on the panel with Eddie and Alistair Lynch - absolutely tore into Jack. Must not be a fan :D

I'm sorry Cuzzy, but the media (especially mark Maclure and David King) were spot on tonight.

This guy is in our leadership group, but he gave us zero tonight. If he was playing to his team role, then his team role is wrong. If we are using a double Coleman medallist as a decoy then we're in more trouble than I thought.

Petulant and over-rated were words that sprung to mind tonight. Vickery tried his heart out while our 'match winner' threw his hands up in the area and gave very few second efforts.

I shouldn't post when I'm this angry after a match, but he was very ordinary tonight.

Very Good player with a bad attitude and body language..

he's passionate and desperate to win and succeed, that's not bad attitude, but explains why his body language is bad. not all players can be emotionless robots, because not all players have the same personality.

His body language is appalling.

He's one of those blokes you play footy with who you can never really respect, up and about when they're flying, ripping shreds off teammates when it's not on a platter.

Not a leader by any stretch.

I guess you know him better than me and if it doesn't worry you guys as Richmond supporters then everything is cool.
Radio commentary many times made the observation about no second efforts, non chasing and bad body language, not that I was really closely studying this as I was watching my own players.

The reason the media keep tearing into Jack is because he keeps doing it. Body language and effort still comes and goes game to game & he was completely ineffective tonight. I strongly doubt his direction from Hardwick was to have no impact and not work to do the 1%ers for his teammates.

I agree. I am sick of the sook waving his arms around like a seagul, or going to ground arms out playing for frees. How about he just plays footy and forgets the BS around it. It hasn't worked for two years now.
JACK, ATTACK THE FREAKING BALL, STOP WITH THE SOOKY LA LA SHIT, AND JUST PLAY.

When you have a player like Jack who is very confident and isn't afraid of capturing the limelight you have to accept the negative feedback to, and I am tipping jack does this. He was poor last night but he wasn't on his pat malone.

Interesting to see how he goes with the hip to the freo players upper body in the 2nd qtr and if it gets looked at?

The media will talk all week about the goal line stuff up which will take some heat off jack but his role in the team needs to be looked at and if he isn't doing what he is supposed to then a game in the burgers may be needed. I struggle to believe that our forward line setup last night was Hardwicks game plan and Jack as the most senior/key forwards needs to wear some blame for not ensuring the fwd line setup was not followed.

Look back 15 years, the same thing would've been said about Richo.

Jack got crap supply, he tried to lead up the ground to get the ball but that's not what he does as a footballer.

But the media needs someone to put down, to rip into, cue going after the saddest and most frustrated man on the field.

Geez, he's gone 1st 2nd 1st in the Coleman, meaning no other forward has matched his output in the past 3 years. Part of being a key forward is that you will go goalless in games, no key forward is exempt from this as it is a very fine line between 0 goals and 2-3 goals.

I don't know where this stuff about lack of chasing and 2nd efforts is coming from, I saw him put on some great defensive pressure right up the ground, stuff you'd never see from a Cloke or Hawkins.

Jack isn't the big framed monster that Cloke is which means he has to try tricks to kick his goals, and he often does this very effectively. This is what makes other teams bag him because it seems like he's just trying to get cheap goals out the back - no one pays attention to the fact that he creates those cheap goals out the back by drawing defenders to him and then winning the contest so the ball spills where he wants it to spill. This is a very underrated skill he has and make no mistake he is a very very smart footballer.

He and Lids in our leadership group and providing zip when the cards don't fall their way isn't great . They both did have reasonable tackle counts which is positive however they need more strings , are to easily taken out of the game .

to be fair, they both had direct opponents holding and scragging them, jack only got the 1 free kick.

postive is it freed up cotchin, martin and other midfielders while mcguane, knights and vickery had it easy in the forward line despite the disgustingly poor entries
