Ross is done at this club. And the Steve's have a lot to answer for regarding their three year extension of Lyon's contract.

Not sticking up for Ross but Hinkley was shizen for the last two seasons and Port fans were calling for his head. He has turned it around. Lyon will stay unless the club has a get out clause or he walks and takes a payout .

Ross has had more chances than Hinkley though. The main difference is that Hinkley has adapted to the modern game and has emphasied skills, risk taking and high scoring Footy. Ross will never do that, he can't.

And I know that it's more likely that we're stuck with Ross, but the club should sack him straight away if it thinks it's in the best interests of the club. Unfortunately, it seems like they've been drinking the kool-aid too.

Yep that much is true.

But it's a ridiculous position the club finds itself in.

Don't agree with paid out , maybe be more receptive about skill and execution under pressure from b.hill, guerra , and hale. Their club is on rebuild also but not losing by plenty like freo do . I not asking for argument but some solution in this dark time.

Unfortunately this year is not the season to be shit house. Members won't stick around next season if they know they will be able to get a walk up seat at the new stadium and pick and choose which game to attend and sit with mates.

yep, wait til they jack up the prices too then watch everyone jump off

Can freo afford a Ross Lyon sized payout if the club decides it needs to move forward this year? We'd be talking millions.

Port had a couple of mediocre years, finishing around mid-table.

We have gone from top, to the very bottom. We are not competitive and a complete disaster right now. This isn't really comparable with Hinkley's Port, who have never been this bad (under Hinkley)

Of course we could. We are one of the most profitable clubs in the AFL.

History has shown that the game can be lost to great coaches very quickly. Think of Pagan, more recently Malthouse. Right now Lyon is reminding me of Terry Wallace. A coach who made his name off defensive innovation (Wallace introduced The Flood), bringing immediate success without the ultimate prize. Signed to a contract that totally overestimated his ability and relevance to the game.

We are traveling in the South and decided to stop over in Fyfe Town (Lake Grace) Us and one other Freo supporter watched it from start to finish. Should have kept driving.

This must be the lowest ebb in our long and sad history.....sorry but this crap is indefensible.

Nothing beats 2001, but if things don't turn around soon we could be facing something worse in the years to come. We still have six players over 30 in our best 22. If we don't get games into kids, these blokes retire, we finish bottom and Fyfe decides to leave, we could be in a world of trouble.

Rosich already has an offer from the Hawks.
