I hate this bloke with a vengeance. He has been and remains a part of the problem with us. In saying that yes he has been pretty decent this yr.
In fact hes been a good upgrade on what we had.
Trouble is if you seek a better version its not that hard to find.Do we want a hard running super quick great skilled upgrade who has a defensive side to his game??. Play menadue then. within a short space of time this kid WILL most likely be a better player than Grigg.

Maybe with some of our players who have been so poor for so long they are lost to me. Maybe with these blokes objectivity is not there. Iapologise for being so pessimistic, 30 yrs of the same sort of things does that to you.

You can only go on what is put before you.
Not in years past because that completely ignores a players development and improvement.
He has elevated himself this year to the point where he'd most likely be in the top 5 in the B&F.
He hasn't gone missing in any games, he is scoring and creating goals,he's beating opponents.
I could think of players who people think are fantastic that he is above currently.

Would be happier if it was 3rd game and not his 130th game. Seen it all before when the cards fall right for him and his disposal has a good day.
Spent most of his career as one of our leaders in uncontested possession but usually hacks the ball around with an average to below average kicks. For this reason opposition clubs don't pay any attention to him.
If he can became a Ling time player then may have some chance to be premiership material.
Has a massive tank and runs himself to buggery ..it's his disposal that lets him down and because he's been our outside guy it's been a bit counter productive.

Sure, if you ignore Murphy, Judd, Gibbs and probably Daisy...

All great players, though I hate to admit it, but they have not fired a shot this year. Bell is their shining light, and possibly top 3 in the Cheat's Medal, or whatever they call their B&F, along with their hovercraft driver. Grigg, for all his deficiencies, would probably be top 3 in their B&F too, if he was there, and playing similar footy as he has been for us.

They're in a world of pain, and I can't even bring myself to dislike 'em, ATM.

To be honest I think we have found his perfect role. He has always been a good tagger and has shut blokes down this year.

If his role in the side remains as a tagger who can hurt the opposition the other way I think he will be best 22 for a while yet as he is playing the role exceptionally.

Seems though he has a bit more effect inside as a tag/defensive mid along with his offence which is handy!

He stops a kid from getting games because his best is better than the kids at the moment but when we need someone to lift it is rarely him. Grigg needs to be around our 19-23 best player before we will be any good. However he should be in front of Newy, Morris and Hunt.... should be behind C.Ellis, McIntosh, Lennon (by next year's end), Conca (unless we trade him) and Menadue (by next year's end).

I can just see us giving him another 3 year contract. He should be traded or put on 1 year contract with options if he meets certain criteria (like not being a spud more than once a year!)..... That'll keep Lids happy and keep Grigg hungry!

I used to pay him out to anyone that would listen, but this year he's turned my opinion around. He's been given a job and he's doing it well. Which is more than can be said for many of our other players this year.

I'm now on the let's slag off Morris bandwagon.

Agree 100% with all of this. He should be our Spangher type when it comes to contracts
Keep him desperate and hungry so he fights for his existence on the rfc list

Just had a quick look at his stats for 2015.

• Average disposals is marginally up (.1) per game.
• Tackles are up (avg 3.9 a game, up from 2.4 last year).
• Already doubled his 2014 goal tally of 3 (7 in 2015).
• On track to beat his 2014 tally for frees awarded (7 in 2015, had 11 in 2014).
• Hit outs - averaging 1 per game (big improvement from his .1 average in 2014).
