I love animation. Anastasia, Finding Nemo, The Lion King, The Incredibles.. all quality.

Haha I loved it moreso because Eugene was voiced by Zachary Levi. Swoon worthy.

I watched The Descendants yesterday. I really liked the director's previous film Sideways and while there were great performances especially by the actors who portrayed Clooney's kids, I didn't think it was a movie deserving of Best Picture nomination for the Oscars. The field must be quite weak this year. Also, if you've had to deal with a loved one slowly dying in a hospital, this one might be a bit hard to take.

Saw The Wrestler last night and I really enjoyed it. Really pulls at the heart string as it conveys this broken man whose life has fallen apart. Only has his profession that keeps him relevant as the rest of his life disappears. The Springsteen song, The Wrestler, that he produced for the movie is absolutely perfect as well. Been a big fan of the song since I first heard it when the movie came out but now I've heard it in context with the movie, it's grown on me even more.

Watched Casino last night and I liked it. Sharon Stone kills it. Definitely deserved an Oscar for what she did. De Niro and Pesci were brilliant again as a double act of sorts. Probably enjoyed it the least out of all of it and Godfather I and II, Raging Bull, Taxi Driver and Goodfellas. But there are some cracking movies in that lot.

Watched Ides of March today. It was okay but I couldn't help feeling like it was incomplete in some way. Good way to spend some time though.

seen that a couple of weeks ago. went alright, don't mind mickey rourke as an actor.

what else have i seen lately?

the millenium trilogy. (the girl with the dragon tattoo is really awesome, the next 2 are alright, but don't match up to the first)

seen the shining for the first time as well. thought it was 'meh' that woman actor wasn't very good at all for a supposed 'classic'.

apollo 18. another blair witch style film, it's not too bad to be honest.

the mist. i think it's a re-make. it was a pile of pish anyway.

the man who wasn't there. wasn't too bad.

also, a couple of ordinary horrors in 'scream of the banshee', 'the task' and 'night of the demons' oh how edward furlong has fallen.

also got 'frozen', will be interesting to see how they make and hour and a half long film out of a couple of people trapped in a chairlift. potential to be great. also got 'green zone' and 'la femme nikita' to watch soon as well.

Yeah, I gave it a second watch a few nights ago and still really enjoyed it.

I was a big wrestling fan as a kid and couldn't help but see the similarities to the stories I've heard about wrestlers like Jake the snake and his real life battles. Being an ex-wrestling fan certainly isn't a prerequisite for enjoying it though.

It's hard to say why I love that movie, but I do.

i think it's his easy going demeanor. lol

seen a few movies lately....

brilliant: the butterfly effect, sunshine,

excellent: cube, freddy vs jason

very good: carlito's way, gattaca, videodrome, requiem for a dream, frozen

good: solomon kane, cube 2: hypercube, orphan

ok: children of men, unfaithful, cube zero

bad: hanna, the expendables, shooter

Highly recommend,The Flowers Of War, starring Christian Bale. Great story good
acting, enough action to satisfy me and some great drama to satisfy my wife and teenage daughters.

I was looking at 3D movies at my video shop and it has a two new release and 5 weeklys for 10 bucks deal, so usually I just grab anything for the weeklies, anyway I grabbed a 3D one called "Sex and Zen".. OK before you all start calling me an old perve, well ok whatever, anyway it is a Chinese subtitled movie with plenty of nudity set back in the ancient day.. OK I put it on for a perve but I ended up laughing the whole way through, even the missus did.. Very funny in a corny way with the Chinese actors facial expressions priceless.. For a movie that I didnt think would be more than a perve, definitely worth a look.

Watched Melancholia for a second time yesterday, I found it even more unsettling and thought provoking then when I first watched it, amazing film.
