Very glad to read that Cos. IMO that had a very unlucky year, lots of potential for next season so you should be looking forward to it.

Much has changed since I first started following Easts and since rl hasn't been on TV here in WA, I don't associate much with what I see. Don't even recognise the uniforms much of the time. One thing that did appeal was the synergy between Eastern Suburbs RLC and East Sydney AFC. There was a small group of banner wavers that used to attend the Sports Ground and Trumper park. That sort of community association seems to be long lost.

They have one thing that I really enjoy in common, the players absolutely do everything in the power to try and keep the opposing team out of their backfield with ball in hand.

The attacking players on the other hand keep grinding away try to find a weakness to get that ball in the backfield.

Having an appreciation of the difficulty required helps but doesn't ensure entertainment.
There are many high skilled sports that aren't entertaining.
If you think rl cannot be improved upon then that's your opinion and that's fine.
I hold a different view.

cos, I agree with you that it could be improved with change, the only argument is semantics over the use of "need"

I would can the stripping rule and heavily police the held call for one.

But I still thoroughly enjoy it for what it is.
