ROUND ONE

12. Adelaide – Brent Reilly (Calder Cannons)

181cm, wingman with good skills, good mark.

Our other selections are:

44. Adelaide – Ben Finnin (Northern Knights)

189cm, Played for Vic Metro at half back, on the ball and half forward.

59. Adelaide – Jason Schuback (Gippsland Power)

This guy is listed as Jacob Schuback in the Advertiser and he as described as and exciting half back flanker.

Can anyone in Victoria give some info about any of these guys?

cheers

Jerome

– Jacob Schuback
(Gippsland Power) 28/11/83, 177cm, 77kg

Versatile youngster, who is generally a long-kicking defender, yet can also switch between the midfield and up forward. Schuback is an impact player who represented the U18 Vic Country side in 2001, while he finished his year with fine results at the Draft Camp, where he shone in the 20m Sprint (2.92), Agility and Shuttle Run drills. He is the type of player Geelong may look at to bolster their defence, although it won’t surprise if he is snapped up in the 1st Round.

– Ben Finnin
(Northern Knights) 9/3/84, 189cm, 75kg

A mobile type who can play down back or up forward, Finnin is also a long left-foot kick who won All-Australian honours in 2001 after representing Vic Metro in the U18 Championships. A strong marker of the ball, who possesses a good leap, Finnin has the type of versatility that is likely to appeal to Melbourne – if he is still available – as he has the potential to be taken earlier in the Draft.

Just got this info off the AFL Phantom Draft, these guys were picked up 23 and 25 respectively in the Phantom so it seems like a pretty good job by our recruiting people (also luck that they were still available) Of course, who knows how they'll turn out but at this stage I'm quite happy with the way things have turned out. :)

Draft Camp Findings

Heres a bit more on our new recruits...

BRENT REILLY (Calder Cannons) –Reilly, a highly rated midfielder had a collarbone problem, was able to run, but was unable to participate in full contact drills during draft camp.

JACOB SCHUBACK (Gippsland Power) – Had an excellent Draft Camp where he shone in the 20m Sprint (2.92), agility and shuttle run drills.

BEN FINNIN (Northern Knights) – A mobile player, Finnin topped the running vertical jump with his right foot in the tall defenders group. A mobile player who is a strong marker and a long left foot kick.
