interesting what they do with our defence

most sides are moving to a asst coach that looks after team defence not just the back 6, we are yet to move down this path
Not true. Sando specifically said when he started that Milburn will look at whole team defense and Bickley will look at the whole team offense/ball movement. Dasher seems to develop defenders well but maybe he's not that good at defensive strategy. Maybe his strengths lie at teaching one on one the art of defending ie positioning, spoiling etc but when it comes to the whole team defense and match ups he's not so good?

What Sando says and what Sando does might be two different things altogether

Rucci on SEN this morning suggesting we approached Walsh in relation to our vacant senior assistant position to support Sando, but the review that removed Sando was well underway.

could there be another twist?

Dew and Walsh combo

SEN stated on the news at 8am that Koch announced on whatever his morning show, that Walsh is the new coach of the Adelaide Crows. Announcement later today.

Could be but my bet Bolton will be in the mix instead of dew
I would guess that when asking about a senior assistant Walsh turned us down but said I would not leave for anything less than senior coach and we said deal

I like Kochie, but that's a dick move.

Dont worry that its been discussed on here all day.

He's persisting with that line that Walsh has "never spoken glowingly about Adelaide", as if that's needed. Or relevant.

Notice that the Powertiser has never used those lines about our people who've headed down to Alberton? I didn't see any "Tyson Edwards used to think Port Power was shit, so I'm staggered he's going there to work".

Danger & Campo are very close, might be in out best interests to have him there. Surely Walshy will be telling the line coaches what to do ?

Fine. If Danger and Campo are close, get Hurley to pay Campo $300k a year to iron Patty's jumper, drive him to training and fetch him a cappucino. And make sure he stays out of the coaches box.

Then he can't stay. Our delivery going forward from the back pocket was diabolical - not just when we hit the wing with the footy and pulled out the Simon Tregenza 9-iron to get the ball to Eddie Betts via the top of his head.

Why would any assistant speak glowingly about another club other than the throwaway line 'we respect them' in game week

So just catching up on things after a weekend away and see we are going with Phil Walsh. Don't know a lot about him, so hard to comment. Is this a case of going for an experienced man after not having the greatest success with a younger, untried bloke?

And what's up with Port leaking the news. Bitterness? Trying to keep themselves in the media? Trying to give Rooch a leg up in the?

Happy with this decision, Walsh is one of the very few candidates I've been immediately comfortable with, most others I've had to convince myself.

Was very keen on us grabbing Walsh at the end of last year as Sandos senior assistant, sounds like we have him as the real deal now.

Now for the broom through the assistant coaches...

Meh, Port have form on the matter, pretty sure they announced Bailey as coach of Melbourne.

Campo from my understanding had known for a few weeks that he will be at the club in 2015, but not exactly sure on the role.

Possibly the only assistant to be given a new contract.
