So we know that Geelong and Hawks have the top 2... who's next?

Carlton: Judd, Stevens, Murphy, Scotland
Port: Cornes, Cornes, Burgoyne, Salopek

Bulldogs: = 32 (5th)
Cooney: 8.5 (9 if he keeps it up for sustained period)
West 8
Cross 8
Griffen: 7.5

Carlton: = 33 (4th)
Judd: 10
Stevens: 8
Murphy: 7.5
Scotland 7.5

Port Adelaide: = 33.5 (3rd)
C.Cornes: 9

Defently Port they have Chad, Kane, S.Burgoyne, Salopek, Cassisi, Boak, Rodan, Lade/Brogan.

Rucks are a crucial Bit of the Midfield.

As it stands now:
Geelong
Hawks
Port
Bulldogs
Brisbane
Carlton
Saints
Collingwood.

Bulldogs midfield is probably second only to Geelong, i rate it higher than Hawthorns.

Cooney - 9 (freak, chance at charlie this year)
Cross - 8
Akermanis - 8
Gilbee - 8
Eagleton - 7
Giansiricusa - 7
West - 7
Griffen - 7

Is that your opinion or facts?

IMO Geelong and and Hawks are clear leaders and then Bulldogs...

Carlton with Bannister and Walker flying is pretty good but with the injuries we rely on Judd a fair bit. Murphy has blossomed though without the extra attention but has struggled the last few week for some reason:confused:

I'd rate Brisbane's ahead of ours also:o

Gee Carlton supporters love pumping up their midfield this year. Problem wit h the opening post is that half the dogs midfield was left out .Add Giansiracusa, Aker, Boyd, Eagleton, Johnson(spending more and more time there this year) Gilbee when he wants to and surely the Bulldogs midfield is pushing Cats and Hawks this year.

I love the ranking points some posters put on this forum too. Ranked with such authority.;)

I no this is all personal oppinion, but please don't tell me judd is a 10! i love him i really do! was my fav player till buddy started but he is no longer a 10! he once was but has lost his 10 status! yes he still wins a lot of contested ball and yes still get 20+ touches a game but is no longer damaging opposistions like he used to! And for griffen 7.5 i wouldnt have in my best mids. Boyd has him covered in that possie! griffen dosent have the consistency of a good mid yet! But wll get there in the future!

I think geelong are the best now after watching ablett! Hawks are a close second! and hodge is a freak! he is the second best mid in the league when his up and going!! gets plenty of ball contested ball as well and his damaging on the score board!

Surely when everyone is 'up and going' Hodge is not 2nd in the LEAGUE.
2nd best mid in the league is only out of G.Ablett, S.Black, and maybe even Goodes and Kerr

Sure hodge is awesome; and any club would love him; but surely he isn't the next best after Judd!

You say it with such authority despite the fact that Ablett is clearly number 1.
-->Judd and Ablett are the same age. Now over their career, clearly Judd has done much much more. Where was Ablett before 07? Coz Judd was winning premierships, brownlows and B&F's. Meanwhile Ablett was no where close.
-->In 2008, Ablett has clearly had a better season this far; and I'd say he's gonna win the brownlow.
-->But Judd is in a lesser midfield, playing without a pre-season, recovering from injury, and is still playing his first-year with the blues
---AND STILL RIPPING IT UP!---HENCE: Judd = No.1
-->First 5.5 years of their careers: Judd > Ablett
Next 1.5 years so far: Ablett > Injured Judd
If Ablett is better for the next 4 years he will be equal to Judd. But since Judd will have returned to his best, that's a non-issue.
-->NB: Look at Aker last year; learning the players and the team dynamics; now this year he knows them; read the article
