Eh, people always called Buddy selfish but he gave his teammates plenty of the ball, a team is simply better when it's best goalkickers aren't settling for mediocre shots. Not saying he isn't a fine player, but he could be better.

I reckon they should keep Stringer in the forward line and not try to develop him as a midfielder. The Dogs have plenty of midfielders and freakish mid-sized forwards are such a valuable asset. His best asset is his ability to win one on one contests and that is more valuable in the forward line.

The most selfish player in the AFL by a mile. So amusing to watch. Handball is not in his repertoire haha. Not being disrespectful; I love him. Seriously talented player. I wish Sonny Walters was as selfish as Stringer.

I should find my post on the dogs board from a couple years ago when they were comparing Macrae and Stringer and alot of them thought Macrae would be the better player but you could see Stringer was a superstar of the future, Stringer is a freak.. He is capable of being anything

Our 2012 draft thread there was only one name that we wanted with our first 2 picks. Everyone was aboard the Stringer train and our whole supporter base has been on ever since.

The comparisons to Gary ablett snr (in terms of playing style) are pretty spot on but he's also very similar to buddy. Not the strongest of pack marks but his speed and size make him a very difficult matchup.

Someone like Rance or Hurley would be the ones I'd play on him. Bullies the small/medium sized guys and is too athletic for most big defenders.

100% agree. Play him forward the whole game. Wasted in the midfield particularly when we have those positions covered. Hogan/Cameron/Stringer is the perfect combination. Glad my club has one of them.

I had a lot of posters thought this wasn't worthy of a Thread, Think Jakey has been fantastic in his 3rd year of AFL. His style is looking very much like Ablett Srn against West Coast today. Anyone else agree? Big chance for All Australia if can finish last 2 games with a bang!!!

I don't normally like talking up young players...As much as I love Bontempelli, I think Jake will be our most talented player in the future. His untapped potential is scary. Bookmark this, without any setbacks or injuries, He will kick 50plus goals this season and really make a name in the league. He reminds me of Gary Ablett srn. What do others think of him? some of his highlights in his short career.
