I think they should rename the bolts vs islanders series

the 3-0 series all 4 games so far
tampa leading of corse:D

I think Les Habs have blown it now. To be leading in the last 30 seconds of Game 4 and to give up the lead was a killer. Then the way we lost it in Double OT through a shocking piece of play by Kovalev, taking your eye off the puck is such a basic error and then to collide with Souray ... it was just so sh*t I couldn't believe it. We've now gotta go to Beantown & win every game from here. Can we do it? Mon coeur dit oui, ma tête dit non. Still I'll enjoy watching it tomorrow night regardless, just gotta stay away from the result all day!

Hiya Ray. So you're a Habs fan? I have a dear friend who lives in Nova Scotia in Canada who has been a Habs fan all his life. I enjoy giving him a hard time.

Seriously though, I like the Habs and I always like to see them do well for his sake. Saku Koivu is a gun. :)

personally i think they played like a larthargic pack of fairys during their 4-0 loss.

but my ass will be planted for tommrows game, hopefully with a better effort.

Hiya Marshy. Great to meet another 'nucks fan and an Aussie to boot! I envy you being able to see every Canucks game. Victoria is on Vancouver Island isn't it? Of course they had the Commonwealth Games there a few years back. I believe they have lots of pumas there too. Have you seen any yet? :)

ahah na mate, never seen a puma in my life...just like the kanagrooo myth loating around here. ya victoria is the main city on vancouver island, a nice one too, apart from all the bums that litter downtown. nice selection of ladies too!:D

Congrats David. I was going for the Bolts in that series also.

gtyre, you have to see the 6th game replay.

canucks went 4 goals up in the 2nd, only to be be peged back by the flames midway through the third. game went into 3rd overtime, until out of the blue...morrison scored! series is now tied 3-3, going in to the deciding 7th game.

best game iv ever seen in my life. i was boozing as well which eased some tension, but the game just kept going...finished at 11:40. the game didnt help the party scene either, no body was going to risk leaving the tv.

top night

I'm watching the Sens-Leaves game right now. 1-1 in overtime! I'd love to see Toronto win this series so they can meet my beloved Red Wings in the Stanley Cup finals.

Glad you enjoyed it, Marshy. The best I can get is a game description email from the Canucks website email list. :)

Sorry to be picky Milkman, but I've never heard them called or spelled the Leaves before. Obviously "leaves" is the correct plural for the noun leaf, but everyone calls them the Maple Leafs! :) I'm sure that's Toronto's official name also.

Apparently the "Leaves" play in the same league as the
Boston Bears, New Jersey Demons and Ottawa Politicians.

BTW, @ 7 pm EST Leafs v Sens, Game 7.

The winner will likely play the Wings for Lord Stanley's Cup.

I know it's "Leafs". It's a subtle jab at them. :) I've seen it used before on the CBC (Canadian network) boards and thought it was humorous.

And yes, "Maple Leafs" is Toronto's official name.

Marshy, do you think the Canucks would've won the series had Bertuzzi not mugged the Nords player a while back? I think it's a crying shame he screwed his team over so bad.

However, I would much rather see Detroit play the Flames than see them play the Nords in rd. 2 so that series went the way I wanted it to.

Vive les glorieux! How could I ever doubt my Montréal Canadiens! At 3-1 down and after the way we lost that 4th game I thought we were toast. To fight back like we did in that fabulous Game 5 performance though completely turned it around and from there I knew we would win win the series. Game 6 at Centre Bell with the backing of the fanatical Habs fans was a formality but to guts out that win in Beantown today was sensational. Once José Theodore started standing on his head in Game 5 we had the advantage and he was immense in Game 7. In that 3rd period we were on the ropes but once Kovalev's brilliance fashioned that one chance Zednik was on hand to smash it home. We took our chance and they didn't and that was the difference at the end of the day.

I'm very proud of this team for fighting like they have done for the CH thus far. If Theodore can stay in this kind of form and the Zednik-Koivu-Kovalev line can continue this rate of scoring then I give us a big chance against the Bolts. Tampa Bay have been fantastic this season but a Conference Semi-Final is unfamiliar ground for that club. Sure they may beat us in Montréal during the regular season but Centre Bell is a different place come playoff time - the Forum Ghosts have finally taken their place at Centre Bell and it is the most intimidating place to play playoff Hockey at the moment. La Ville du Hockey is buzzing and hopefully this team can ride that wave. Winning at home is the key for Les Habs, hopefully we can keep this run going!

GO HABS GO!:D

Congrats to Les Habitents for their remarkable comeback against the Bruins. It's good to see another Original 6 team do well in the playoffs, though it came at the expense of yet another Original 6 team.

Tampa Bay is a decent club but I think the Habs will pull it out and then go on to an Original Six Wales conference final against Toronto! I don't want to see another upstart make it to the Stanley Cup finals.

It's moot though because whoever wins the Wales conference will face (and fall to) the mighty Red Wings.

With Bertuzzi I reckon we might have taken home Lord Stanley!

I shall have my say on the Bertuzzi incident. It was a sickening act of violence, and although Bertuzzi was one of my favourite players, I think he got the suspension he deserved and he deserves more IMO. I think he should face criminal charges, the NHL needs to stamp out these sort of incidents. Penalties for excessive violence in the NHL are a slap on the wrist & this has the effect of having players want to take out their own form of justice on the ice. The NHL really needs to clean up the game - kids watch this stuff.

Bertuzzi definitely let the team down badly and I actually think it was disappointing that so many people came out in public support of Bertuzzi. This kind of violence isn't acceptable in any way.

theres no way he should be faced with criminal charges, this will open pandoras box
" i got slashed and then i fell into the boards and did my knee, can i have some money now?"

i do agree it was a cowardly and dispicable thing to do, but hockey is hockey, and hockey has those sorts of incidents, even tho to a much lesser extent, and people have to live with it if they wanna watch it

I totally agree with you. He gave the sport a black eye with his thuggery.

I think the suspension he got is fair, as long as he sits out next season the same time Moore is out. If Moore can never play again because of what Bertuzzi did to him, Bertuzzi should never play again.

I believe there's already been precedent set regarding on-ice actions having legal actions taken on them. If I'm not mistaken, Marty McSorely was in some legal troubles thanks to a chop to the head he delivered to Breshears with his stick a few years back.

I agree entirely. While this is one of the worste incidents I've seen in any sport, if he faces legal action it could set a precedent for the future, where any ugly incident ends up in court

I think so far the NHL has handled the situation well, with the punishment he's already recieved, and with the possibility for further punishment
