Yeah i like that approach. Let The Maestro decide who wears it.Would love to see Hirdy hand it over when our season is over St Kilda styles..
Jim's jumper is way to valuable to give to anyone who hasn't earned the right to wear it.
No one, other than his maybe his sons (please please please), will be good enough to match him on and off the field but that doesn't mean we shouldn't reward someone who has earned the right to wear it through his gut busting efforts and dedication to the club.
We certainly have some young talent that could be worthy of wearing it later in their careers but not yet.
Terry was a fantastic player and one of my all time favourite Essendon players but his contribution to Essendon is not in the same league as Jim's.
Retire the jumper until one of our young players steps up and demands the jumper by his on field and off field efforts.
I hope in 2 years time that a young KPP player we currently have on our list could very well be the player who has earned the right to wear the famous No5.
let daniher get it so we can try n go daniher hird daniher hird
People were saying the same thing when it went from Daniher to Hird.Jim's jumper is way to valuable to give to anyone who hasn't earned the right to wear it.
