Epic show. Season 1 was super-hot fire. Season 2 was Sammy-sosa. Season 3 was cold. Season 4 was mild.

Marissa was such a tragic story. She was the cancer that kept bringing Ryan down.
Yeah but they were good together.

She was an absolute basket case though.

As a 13 year old, when Trey r*ped Marissa, I was absolutely horrified.

I think Ryan ended up beating the shit out of him? Can't remember if he accidentally kills him or not...

Also, Seth's parents seemed like the best ever. Was super jealous.

Wow. I'm quite surprised this only lasted 4 seasons.

I legitimately thought the show ran for like 6 or 7 seasons, and Marissa died in like Season 5.

Those 3 seasons seemed like a pretty long time...

Shows like One Tree Hill lasted 9 seasons because it was cheap to make and produce so the ratings didn't have to be so high.

The O.C was bloody expensive to make because it was shot on location and a quarter of the show's budget was on the music (worth every cent). The ratings wasn't that bad, had the show came out today with the same ratings it had when it was cancelled it would've continued with either Cable TV or Online Streaming because it had a fan base that would've watched the show on multiple devices. Network TV's are bloody greedy.

Off topic the show had some unknown stars who later became huge in supporting roles. Chris Pratt, Olivia Wilde, Chris Brown, Shailene Woodley.

Actually doing a re-watch of this at the moment. Nostalgia hits are strong.

Best characters are:

Sandy Cohen
Anna
Summer
Luke (after the episode with his gay Dad)

in terms of female hotness it folowed a usual path, just like glee. the blonde was the original hottie and star (marissa & quinn). teenage boys everywhere dreamed about them. but as the series rolled on, it became apparent that the brunettes were hotter (summer and brunettes in glee)

when mrs norf and i visited cali we insisted my cousin take us to chino. we went there.

Ah yeah they were always slamming that place. Property owners must've loved it.

Teenage me enjoyed the first couple seasons but anyone saying it's great TV is letting the nostalgia talk.
