I've never seen the Lion King. Was around 20 when it was released and wasn't interested in going to watch Disney films at that age. It's rarely on TV (as the same with most Disney films) and never caught it when it has.

Yeah, fan of Shakespeare in general. Envy, betrayal all that jazz. What I've seen of the Lion King in clips and the songs doesn't overly impress though I have to say. Think the latter Disney films lost their charm to be honest

Lion King is animal kingdom Hamlet. It's great.

Wasnt keen on that either but it's going ahead. I grew up on The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid etc... I want them untouched.

Emma Watson though.

I love all those but I don't mind if they live action it, I don't think there's anything they can do that can ruin the original, in fact if the live action is bad then it makes the original better

But I think all those ones are just impossible to bomb if they do it like a musical

I guess. Whatever they do doesnt really ruin the original. It will always stand alone. The difference like what others on here have been talking about is their is no humans in The Lion King.

Could be less relateable than say Aladdin or The Little Mermaid or the upcoming Beauty & the Beast.

Personally I think Lion King isn't as good as Beauty and the Beast Aladdin or Little Mermaid, I don't think it's even as good as hunchback, but a bloody good soundtrack, top 3 in my book

Of course it is, but I don't think it's as good as the other three. It's still one of the best ever, but we're talking high standards here with 90s Disney

Pfft... Lion King musically is probably the best. Although I absolutely love Aladdin for it's music.

I can never separate those four. The Lion King, Little Mermaid, Aladdin and B&TB. I always have them in the same category.

Lion King probably 2nd best sound track, but probably 4th when it comes to the actual movie compare to the other 3

Brave was good, just good harmless fun, I recommend it
