Watched the first ep of The Get Down. Not a big show watcher, but this interested me a bit.

Set in the 70's in the Bronx, about the fading out of disco music, and the introduction of Hip Hop. Dont mind it. Anyone else watched it?

Couldnt get into it. Turned it off halfway through the first episode. I had no idea what the show was trying to be. It just had no identity for me. Was it a drama, was it a comedy? No idea.

I dont get Shoeys, they can give you thrush, golden staph, e coli etc. Is it just a bogan Aussie thing or did it originate elsewhere?

I think it started when people were drunk and just went **** it lets drink out of a shoe.

A moto gp racer did it earier this year and Danny boy followed and it is now I think an aussie racing tradition.

Let's not forget that this is just merely a shoe. Oh no. It's a shoe dripping with at least 1.5-2 hours of intensive sweat (on in the case of Bathurst, 7 hours), and then mixing with the winners champagne.

So basically the hot, sticky sweat of hard work, combined with the sweet taste of victory, and that touch of Aussie-ness is what makes it a proper racing shoey!

Yeah I had my doubts half way through as well. Wasn't a strong start, but the end definitely pieced a few things together and will make me watch the second episode for sure.

I just slogged through Luke Cage which was awful. Terribly written, poorly acted. What a drop off from the pretty good Jessica Jones and the excellent Daredevil.

But now into the second season of Narco's which is just soooooo ****ing good. You cant take your eyes off the bloke who plays Escobar, he's terrific.

Wentz proved he is actually human and threw a pick on a terrible play call as we were chasing the game. We completely choked which sucks.
