So got to the physio yesterday.

My C2,3,4 vertebrae are all locked in the back of my neck. Which is impacting on the ligaments attached to it and causing my traps to become abnormally tight, as well as other muscles in my right shoulder.

The very good looking physio lady basically beat the shit out of me for an hour and then requested I turn up again tomorrow (with 2 more sessions next week). Sigh.

Go and see a chiro.

I've heard mixed things about chiro's. Was more comfortable seeing a physio.

Acupuncture can help greatly. Worked wonders for me when I suffered a serious hammy / inflamed discs back injury 5 years ago.

Me too. My physio lady was stunning.
Seeing a chiro tomorrow for a completely unrelated issue.

They both seem like money grabbing leeches until you actually need them and they sort you out!
Oh I don't mind physios - I've needed them over the years and they've always helped.

Chiro's I'm less sold on.

You been to a chiro before? Thoughts?

First time tomorrow. Needed to push a disc back in alignment. Been to physio for years.

Chiro sorted me right out when I put my shoulder and neck out backing out the driveway earlier this year. I was in unmoveable pain before they clicked me back in. Within 3 visits over the next 2 weeks I was pretty much back to normal. 1 more visit after that a few weeks later and the realignment before and after X-rays were out of this world

Interesting, good to hear it worked.

I'm feeling better from the physio so I guess I'm happy enough to keep going there.

It's not really a this vs that I don't think both have their speciality. I'd always go to physio if it was muscle or joint related but could tell this was more of an alignment tweak and nothing like straining a muscle when I did it

See a decent one and you'll be fine. Chiros will fix you a lot faster than physios. 1 session to relieve the pain and probably 2 more to ensure it doesn't come back.

It's like when you get a good click of the neck yourself. Painless
I don't click my neck though.

What part of the neck is actually doing the clicking?

That's the vertebrates rubbing together I'd imagine. I have to do neck and back excercises throughout the day as I suffer from a condition called ankylosis spondylitis which is basically a fusing of joints. I have to take 6 strong painkillers a day just to be able to function. If you are suffering from neck pain, just do gentle rolls of the head - it will help to loosen it up

I slept on a couch one night, before a week long training camp. Woke up and couldnt even hold my head up straight.

Pain was awful.

One of the coaches did a bit of amateur physio on my back. It was like I was cured overnight. All the pain was in my neck but it had nothing to do with my neck.
